WS Dear Parents/Guardians:
The partnerships and relationships that exist
between home and school are vital to the
success of any academic program. At West Freehold, we value these relationships
as they are one of the greatest reasons why our school has such an outstanding rep-
utation. We are constantly seeking new ways to provide opportunities to develop
and continue these relationships. Active participation in your child’s education is
the cornerstone of this process. Volunteering at West Freehold, is a great way to
show your children that their education is a top priority.
Parent volunteers offer a huge resource and support base for the school commu-
nity while showing their kids the importance of participating in the larger commu-
nity. Even if you haven't been involved in the past, it's never too late to start.
Volunteering not only benefits your children; you also benefit by making the
school a more positive place. Through your modeling, relationship building, sup-
port, and encouragement, you will be helping in ways that will reap numerous
benefits for everyone.
A great BIG thank you goes out to all of our volunteers! We have accomplished so
much because of your help and support! We appreciate all that you do for the
students and staff at West Freehold.
Sincerely,
Edward Aldarelli Patricia Somma

Greetings From Guidance
Hello WFS Families!
As always, I had a wonderful time playing the part of Cruella De Vil for Dalmatian Day! The Kindergarten team does
an outstanding job each year in preparation for this event. The puppies are wonderful, too!
Thank you Dr. Kasun, Mr. Dickstein and Dr. Haimer for joining us and helping find the kidnapped puppy!
I want to remind parents, students and staff that the PARCC assessment is right around the corner.
Grades 3 and 5 will test the week of March 9th through March 13th.
Grade 4 will test the week of March 16th through March 20th.
During this time, I will have extremely limited time to work with students, as I am the School Test Coordinator.
During these two weeks in March, I may not be able to respond to your phone call or email right away. I am asking for
everyone to please be patient and contact the WFS main office for any urgent matters.
Think Spring and warm weather everyone!
Sincerely, Anessa Perry

Thank you to all the parents and students who purchased a book or other item at our Scholastic Book Fair in
February. With your help, we beat last year’s Spring Book Fair sales totals and sold $9,231.78, which raised over
$2,300 for our school. Some special thanks go to Mrs. Gravatt for allowing us to use the Media Center for our
Book Fair. It was a lovely space to use and we appreciate her moving her classes to the computer lab for the week.
And thank you to George and Jay for assisting us in getting the books in and out of the library. Thank you also to
the best unpaid workers around; Rose Colabelli, Kristen Erbacher, Michelle Lordi, Lisa Madonia, Kerri Simons,
Lori Tocci and the entire Book Fair committee;
Barbara Soltis Kristen Sciarra Betty Rockower
Danielle Anastasio Maryann Fiore Betty Roemer

It's hard to believe that Spring is around the corner and we are heading into the last few months of school. We had a very busy February and would like to thank everyone who helped with Winter Enrichment, Valentine's Day Carnation Sale, Chocolate Sales, Bagel Sales, Teacher Appreciation Luncheon, Book Fair and our Annual Gift Auction. As you know, our Fun Fair has been postponed due to the unforeseen leak/flood we had in our Gymnasium and Cafeteria. We are hoping to reschedule in May. Our March PTO meeting will be on Wednesday, March 11th at 7:30pm. We hope you can join us! Good luck to all our families attending our An-nual Gift Auction!! Tickets are still on sale! WFS Eboard
