7. The Center for Student Financial Aid at Call State L.A. is pleased to offer financial aid application workshops (FAFSA) for the 2019-2020 academic year. 9. The USC Summer Programs application has just opened! Choose from over 20 courses in multiple disciplines and topics all taught by USC faculty and staff. 1. The USC Pacific Asia Museum is pleased to announce a new volunteer opportunity for high school students. As Teen Ambassadors to the museum, students will get to plan events, learn about careers in museums, and receive volunteer credit. This is an ideal opportunity for art and culture enthusiasts! Teen Ambassadors will meet one to two times per month after school at the museum. This is also a great way for students to learn more about the USC community. 2. Looking to complete volunteer/community service hours in a fun and rewarding opportunity? The City of Pasadena Human Services and Recreation Department is looking for volunteers who can assist elementary aged children (ages 8-12) with their math, reading, writing, and science homework after school. The Homework, fitness, and fun program meet three days a week at the Villa-Parke Community Center. Anyone 18 & over will have to successfully complete a LiveScan background clearance before being allowed to volunteer. 2. AXA Achievement Scholarship – Deadline is December 14, 2018. The AXA Achievementsm Scholarship provides over $1.4 million in scholarships to young people throughout the nation representing all 50 states, Washington DC and Puerto Rico. Students have the opportunity to receive a $2,500, $10,000 or $25,000 scholarship. In addition, for every student who wins a scholarship, a grant in the amount of $1,000 will be made to the winner’s school. 3. Need help paying for college? The Burger King Scholars program can help! You don’t have to be a valedictorian to submit your Burger King application! This makes the Burger King Scholarship the perfect scholarship for 2.5 GPA students. Scholarship awards range from $1,000 to $50,000 (most scholarships are awarded at the $1,000 level), but imagine what you could do with an extra $1,000 or more towards your college degree! 4. Odenza Marketing Group Volunteer Scholarship - $500 – 1 Award Deadline December 30, 2018. The main goal of the Odenza Marketing Group Volunteer Award is to encourage students to make a positive contribution to their individual communities, while providing scholarship awards to those who have done so over the previous 12 months. To be eligible for the award the student must: A. Be between the ages of 16 and 22 on December 30, 2017. B. A student must also possess a GPA of 2.5 or higher in his/her last academic year. C. A student must have contributed at least 50 hours of volunteer (non-paid) service within his/her community over the last 12 months. D. Be a resident of USA or Canada. 5. There’s a NEW $2500 Scholarship called The Cirkled in Scholarship. It’s open to all students enrolled in 8th-12th. 6. There are many scholarships and colleges that want to know the number one thing you want people to know about you. So, inspired by David Letterman and his top ten list, we created the Top Ten List Scholarship. With so many awards based on grades and extracurricular activities, this unique scholarship gives you the chance to show us what’s truly special and different about you. Get creative, be serious, or tug at our heart strings. Need a number one reason to apply? How about the chance to win a $1,500 scholarship. Deadline to apply is December 31, 2018. All you have to do is submit an online written response to the question: “Create a top ten list of the top ten reasons you should get this scholarship” (250 words or less). 7. Exceptional student leaders are invited to apply for the 2019 GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program. In honor of the legacy and character of our nation’s 40th president, the GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship rewards college-bound students who demonstrate exemplary leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship with financial assistance to pursue higher education. Each year the program selects numerous recipients to receive a $10,000 scholarship renewable for up to an additional three years- up to $40,000 total per recipient. 8. The mission of the Ron Brown Scholar Program is to advance higher education and improve the lives of public service-minded and intellectually gifted African Americans and to accelerate their progress into impactful leadership roles and opportunities. The program seeks to identify students who will make significant contributions to society. Each year 20 or more students are designated Ron Brown Scholars and receive $10,000 annually for four years for a total of $40,000. Applications postmarked by November 1, will be given early consideration. Final deadline is January 9, 2019.

9. The Asian & Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund (APIASF) provides scholarships to underserved Asian American and Pacific Islander students. Our special focus areas are students who live at or below the poverty level; are the first in their families to attend college; are representative of the AAPI geographic and ethnic diversity; and place strong emphasis on community service, leadership, and academic achievement. Scholarship awards range from one-time $2,500 awards to multi-year $20,000 awards. Deadline to apply is January 10, 2019. The ALW Training Scholarships are awarded to public school students in grades six through eleven to cover the costs associated with attending summer study and after school programs to further their training in the theatre arts. Through the Training Scholarship, the Wing will cover the cost of tuition for students to attend the training program of their choice, and the student's area of focus can be from any aspect of theatre from performance, to design, to writing, to stage management, etc. For more information about the Training Scholarships, including guidelines and FAQs, please visit our website at https://alwinitiative.secure-platform.com/a/page/TrainingScholarships. Application deadline for the Training Scholarships is January 18th, 2019 at 11:59PM EST.

11. Seniors! Males or females who plan to enter college for training in the field of education, you should apply to the 2019 National Scholarship from the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Inc. Apply for the $6,000 scholarship. Come to the student center for an application and more information. Deadline to submit is January 18, 2019.

12. The Wing offers ALW University Scholarships for public school students who are in grade 12 and planning to pursue a degree in the theatre arts at the college level. Scholarships of $40,000 ($10,000 a year, renewable for four years) will be awarded to students who demonstrate talent, need, and a passion for pursuing a career in any aspect of the theatre arts (arts administration, directing, performing, design, writing etc.). Applications deadline is January 25th, 2019 at 11:59PM EST. To apply for the 2019 University Scholarships go to https://alwinitiative.secure-platform.com.

13. African -American seniors or descendants residing within the County of Los Angeles school districts can now apply to the 2019 scholarship award provided by the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. of the Los Angeles Alumnae Chapter. The application for the 2019 academic award can be found on the Chapter website at www.dstlachapter.com. All applications must be completed and received no later than Saturday, February 2, 2019. For more information come to the student center.

14. African-American seniors or descendants residing within the Pasadena, Altadena, or Sierra Madre school district can now apply to the 2019 scholarship award provided by the Pasadena Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. The chapter focuses on educational and economic development, physical and mental health, and political and international awareness/involvement. The application for the 2019

15. Attention Juniors: College Board is investing $25 million in a new scholarship program, with students earning $5 million in scholarships each year, beginning with the class of 2020.
