IP Video, Digital Signage and Guest Experience Solutions

DECEMBER 2020

Deliver unique viewing experiences in venues by instantaneously and automatically changing all signage screens to display eye-catching, time-limited messages to help fans celebrate special moments, such as goals or penalties.

ArtioSign: Digital Signage + IPTV in OneMoment of Exclusivity

What’s New

Power on/off end pointsusing the Schedules application

The Schedules app now enables you to define active hours by setting days and times at which your media players and/or signage screens will automatically power on and off, allowing you to save electricity when the building is empty, lessening environmental impact and reducing energy costs.

Display eye-catching, dynamic menu boards in digital signage, now with seamless integration with Oracle Simphony Point of Sale. Screens get updated automatically when prices or availability change, ensuring the information displayed is always up to date for an optimised customer experience.

Integration with Oracle Simphony Point of Sale

Building up on our existing Meeting Room element, this new feature enables organizations to let people see the following at a glance:

• Meeting room availability

• Daily meeting room schedule

• Wayfinding information

The functionality integrates seamlessly with Microsoft Exchange, Amadeus Delphi and Hyatt Envision Events Management System.

Additionally, we now support Samsung SSSP6 QB13R small displays, making it the perfect solution to display the day’s schedule outside a meeting room.

Interactive Signage ElementsArtioSign now offers interactive features, enabling you to update signage screens instantly and with ease using the remote control, to:

• Promptly change layouts to hide/show content as and when you need it, without having to use scheduling tools

• Manually select a VoD asset or channel to be played from a list and ensure that the right message, such as training material or live news, reaches the right audience at the right time

These two features combined create a powerful tool that enables organizations to make the most of their digital signage solution, bringing flexibility and control as screens can be updated spontaneously. This could for instance be used by a bank for staff training outside of opening hours, as it enables layout and training video to be selected quickly and easily.

Restrict user access and permissions to specific groups and easily control signage creation, editing and publishing. Users with the same profile can view and edit the same playlists, making the creation process completely seamless.

Additionally, ArtioSign’s new approval process supports established review workflows by enabling managers to accept, reject or amend ArtioSign content before it gets published, ensuring that only approved content is used and communications are always on-brand and accurate.

ArtioGuest: Interactive Guest Experience PortalExterity and Samsung offer choice of IP or RF Channel Hospitality SolutionsExterity and Samsung have again been working closely together to extend the reach of our integrated hospitality solution – comprising Exterity’s ArtioGuest interactive guest experience portal and Samsung Displays with built-in Tuner. This enables properties with a traditional RF network to offer the same level of in-room guest entertainment service as those with a cutting-edge, IP-based network.

The hybrid Wi-Fi/RF solution complements Exterity’s existing integration with Sony BRAVIA displays with built-in tuner, and enables hotel guests to enjoy the same level of in-room entertainment service as those with a cutting-edge, IP-based network, saving hotels the cost and disruption of re-cabling rooms to a wired IP network. Seamless integration between the ArtioGuest interactive guest experience portal and Samsung Smart TVs with built-in tuner enables the delivery of a first-class service to hotel operators and guests alike. The RF-based solution is simple and cost effective to deploy, manage and support, as there is no need for a new IPTV Head End or IP switch network. Hotels can use their existing coax infrastructure to deliver channels, while the ArtioGuest portal can be deployed over Wi-Fi, providing a premium guest experience.

We’ve improved the information provided by Smart Control so you can easily check which devices are displaying signage, portals or simply playing a channel, as well as checking volume level and device location.

User Permissions in ArtioGuestArtioGuest administrators can now create and assign configurable permissions, restricting access to specific groups, so they can easily control portal creation, editing and publishing. For example, select admin users, one or more from each department for instance, can be given permission to create and edit specific portals or publish to specific groups of devices only.

In the next few months, we will be bringing to market the new AvediaPlayer m9605 Media Player with the ability to integrate both 4K video and stunning 4K graphics into digital signage for an enhanced and captivating visual experience. The m9605 Media Player has been designed specifically for those who need to ensure their content instantly stands out, with smooth, highly detailed 4K 60fps graphics and animations, seamlessly integrated with superb quality 4K video. This powerful new platform fully integrates into Exterity’s IP video ecosystem and features an Intel Core CPU, on-device solid state storage and a quiet fanless design.

New ArtioFlow Workflow App ArtioFlow enables the creation of time-saving workflows by simply dragging a series of actions – such as power on, set volume or channel change – to create action sequences. ArtioSign campaigns and playlists, as well

as ArtioGuest portals, can also be integrated into these workflows and published at the push of a button.

Users can also create workflow triggers, so screens will be automatically and instantly updated when specific events occur. For example, during important announcements, all screens could be automatically muted and updated to display evacuation instructions, tailored to each floor and room. Priorities can be assigned to these triggers, ensuring that a lower priority message doesn’t override something that requires immediate attention.

Next generation Encoders ship with Intel E3900 series technology inside

New g4401 IP-IP Gateway

Exterity’s next generation 38-series AvediaStream HDMI Encoders, powered by Intel’s innovative Atom® E3900 processor, are now shipping. This high-performance processor enables us to provide a more a more flexible platform, capable of supporting a wider range of codecs versus traditional, single codec ASIC solutions.

The launch of the new g4401 IP-IP Gateway means that two paired gateways can send and receive secure and reliable video streams over the internet using the SRT protocol. This enables organisations to deliver live video, such as training sessions, between remote sites, without the need for costly dedicated delivery networks. Additionally, the new gateway supports the input of Transport Streams delivered by IPTV providers, enabling the redistribution of selected channels over the LAN.

The latest addition to the Exterity AvediaStream Gateway family supports content-protected live TV and radio from satellite sources and streams it securely across an IP network. With dual conditional access slots and built-in Pro:Idiom encryption, the g4417-pi meets the most stringent content protection requirements and delivers high value and broadcaster premium channels across an IP network.

The gateway has been specifically developed to be used with ArtioGuest, or similar middleware, delivering Pro:Idiom encrypted TV channels to compatible hospitality LG SmartTVs.

Exterity’s AvediaStream Transcoders, ArtioPortal Desktop and now full range of Encoders all support NDI, NewTek’s AV-over-IP (AVoIP) standard, while still supporting IPTV. This seamless integration creates an end-to-end NDI solution, enabling organisations to easily contribute, distribute and display content, sharing production-quality video between AVoIP live production environments and Exterity IP video solutions. As we continue to develop and improve our end-to-end solutions, we will soon introduce NDI support on our Media Players. This will enable a complete NDI integration, from source to display on any screen.
