Consultation on the draft statutory guidance to implement the strategy for adults with

autism in England to be held at Colchester FC stadium.

The Department of Health (DoH) is funding consultation events across the Country to

make sure that the final statutory guidance works well for people with autism.

Autism Anglia is pleased to have been chosen to hold an event in the Eastern region to

gather and submit your views on the draft statutory guidance.

Why the consultation?

The Autism Act 2009 requires the Government to do two important things:

produce (and review) an adult autism strategy for England; and

produce (and review) statutory guidance for local authorities and NHS Trusts.

The strategy was refreshed in April 2014 – Think Autism.

Now, the statutory guidance is being updated, to reflect Think Autism to tell local

authorities and NHS bodies what they should be doing.

Remember this includes: Planning in relation to the provision of services to people

with autism as they move from being children to adults.

Please contact Autism Anglia for more details
