Capacity... Party cost is for 15 guests + the birthday child. Max of 30 children; extra guests are $12. There’s no charge for adults.

We cover everything but the food... Selection of personalized invitations for all guests (they’re cute!) Tableware: Napkins, plates, cups, forks, and tablecloths. Workshop Room for eating and craft activi-ties. Other activities take place in the mu-seum gallery. Staff educator who loves kids! Craft project (birthday child chooses ahead of time from a list of themed crafts). Museum Waterbottle for Each Guest Cake Knife to use. Birthday candles and matches. General Clean Up.

What You Provide... Any food you would like to serve. We highly recommend juice boxes and cupcakes (very easy to pass around!).

Parties generally start at 10:30 am or 2:30 pm on weekends (note that our galleries are typically open to walk-in visitors between 11-5 pm).

Prices include tax. Family membership is $75 for one year. Gratuity not required (you shouldn’t have to tip to have a great party!) 50% of the balance reserves your date and time; the remainder 50% is paid on your party date, after the party.

Pirate Bash Your little pirate can celebrate with swashbuckling fun! Mateys can follow a treasure hunt, learn piratey words, run around in Pirate & Shark tag, try to seek treasure in our treasure hunt, and create a fun pirate craft (you choose from our selection).

Under the Sea Celebrate with the wonders of the sea with fun ocean crafts, aquatic games, and fin-tastic activities. Touch giant whale bones, meet a hermit crab, go ‘fishing,’ and travel to the bottom of the sea to play ocean tag.

Shark Party / dolphin Party In our Shark Party, become a shark scientist and touch shark jaws, watch out for a frenzy in our shark tag game, and excavate real shark teeth! In our Dolphin Party, celebrate the world of dolphins and touch a dolphin jaw, play dolphin games and dolphin tag, and choose from our selection of dolphin crafts.

Mermaids n’ Friends Learn about amazing ocean animals - and pretend ones like mermaids! “Swim” around in mermaid tag, decorate tiaras, pin the necklace on the mermaid, and create mermaid crafts.

Glow in the Dark

Venture to the bottom of the sea to explore bioluminescent creatures. Play tag in the dark with glow sticks, and paint with glow paint. Create your own deep-sea “waterglobe!”

I sea cookies

A chance to play with your food! Explore amazing ways ocean creatures eat, from shark jaws to whale baleen - and decorate your own colorful cookies with icing and sprinkles to take home.

Whales n’ Friends Discover the amazing ocean world! Touch whale bones, meet a hermit crab, and play ocean games in stations around the museum with one or more of the following focuses with “fishing,” blowing bubbles, and touching shells. (Our instructor will choose activities best suited to your interests and age group.)

R bber D ckie Party

Celebrate with everyone’s bathtime friend! After reading a rubber duckie story, guests have fun at duckie stations: decorating duckie “feet,” going on a duckie hunt, blowing soapy rainbow bubbles, and of course painting their own rubber duckie to take home.

Little sailors A wonderful party on the high seas for your little sailor! Find out about things boat and ship. Touch sailor’s tools from our collection, see ship models, learn a few parts of boats, test what floats and sinks, experiment with blowing ship sails, have fun with sailor games, and paint your own wooden boat!

Little Artists Especially for budding Picassos! Have a wonderful birthday of creating and crafting. Touch historical art on whalebones, and have a creative blast with paint, glitter, markers, and sparkles. Enjoy clay sculpting, color mixing, stamping, and bubble prints. Go home with all your art creations! (We’ll clean up!)

Little pirates For 4-year old mateys! Party will be adapted from description to the right for young tots.

Spa-Tastic Party Enter our Museum Spa to don a feather boa and create your own handmade ocean lotions, lip balms, and bubble bath mixtures created from natural ingredients! Relax with a homemade mask and go home with temporary tattoos and your eco- and animal- friendly mixtures and crafts.

Detective Party Calling Detectives-In-Training! Enter the Museum Crime Scene and work in teams to gather evidence and clues to solve the mystery. Learn about fingerprints, invisible ink, try cracking codes, and solve a “crime!”

Science n’ Action Budding scientists can roll up their sleeves for a birthday celebration of cool science experiments! Mix up fizzy chemicals, find out what’s bubbling, and explore surprise color changes. Enter our slime lab to create your own stretchy goop.

Gross out party Come have fun with the spooky, slimy, and downright gross side of the aquatic world. Touch the icky and sticky, create a batch of gooey slime, and dissect a real owl pellet and try to assemble the bones into a skeleton.
