Task: Your job is to create a timeline of your life, featuring 2 short-term goals (By the end of the summer), 2 medium-term goals (By graduation) and 2 long-term goals (By your 26th birthday). These goals should be career-related.

Each goal, labeled with a title and image, it should be placed along your timeline based on the expected date of achievement. 3 of your goals must come with a paragraph-long description (Answering questions like: How does this relate to a potential career in the future? Why is this goal for you? Why is it important to your personality? How does this goal match up with your skillset?)

The paragraphs can either be written, or recorded using audio/video.

Suggested tools: To make your timeline, you may use any of the following tools (If you find something else you think will work, ask the teacher for approval):

Procedure:

Step 1: Identify your goals: 2 in the short-term (By the end of the school year), 2 in the medium-term (By graduation) and 2 in the long-term (By your 26th birthday).

Step 2: Turn your goals to be S.M.A.R.T. goals, using the attached S.M.A.R.T. Goal Builder handout.

Step 3: Identify which three goals you want to profile in your timeline. For each goal, answer the following questions in paragraph form: Answering questions like: How does this goal relate to a potential career in the future? Why is this goal for you? Why is it important to your personality? How does this goal match up with your skillset?

Step 4: Choose your tools. If you want to use audio or video, you must choose a timeline app or presentation software.

Step 5: Create your timeline. Ensure that each of your 6 goals includes a title image and expected date of completion. 3 of your goals must include the paragraph-long descriptions that you created in Step 2.

Step 6: Edit your work. It may be helpful to get a peer or helpful adult to look it over as well.

Step 7: Submit to my dropbox on dedato.wordpress.com OR in person. Include your rubric.
