TRANSCRIPT

Page 2: Deimos Pitch

The sequence is going to begin with a 16-year-old brunette girl (Raven), slowly swinging on a swing in the middle of the woods. The girl will be

wearing a white dress covered in mud and blood- the white of the dress suggests innocence where as the red and dark of the dirt and blood,

suggests death. This is creating juxtaposition and portrays a corruption of innocence. The girl will be quietly singing a nursery rhyme while the

camera tracks around her. This scene will be low-key lighting and will be set at dust. Then there will be a sharp cut to show the young girl and her boyfriend getting out of a 2014 make black BMW. There will then we a

shot of them dancing and drinking shots at a house party. Then will be a flash of her being chased trough the woods while she cries and screams hysterically. There will then be a cut of the boyfriend running around the woods, screaming and trying to find Raven. While he is doing this there

will be heavily breathing and screams

WHAT’S HAPPENING IN OUR OPENING SEQUENCE

The scene will end with a shot of Raven swinging on the swing, the camera will then slowly zoom out to reveal a dead body next to her. The dead body is herself. There will then be a fade to white and the

title of our movie will be revealed- our title is yet to be decided.

HOW OUR OPENING SEQUENCE ENDS

Page 4: Deimos Pitch

We will be using titles throughout the opening sequence, to let the audience know who is starring in our film, also who the directors,

writers and how the production company is. We will then reveal the title of our movie at the end of our opening sequence. For our titles

we will use white bold font in order for it to stand out.

THE TITLES

Page 5: Deimos Pitch

The sounds that we will be focusing on will be mostly non-diegetic as we want to put the audience on edge with some

suspenseful slow, orchestra music with sharp moments when their state of comfort is concluded by the actions that are happening on screen. But it is also key to mention the

lack of sound in our piece as there will be many scenes where the audiences nerves will begin as the silence

connotes danger to them.

In terms of diegetic sound, loud crashes and things like footsteps are both generic conventions of the horror genre as they both scare both the protagonist and the audience

due to either their loud sharp nature or their eerie ambiguity.

SOUNDS

Page 6: Deimos Pitch

The audience we will be aiming at for our piece will be a range between the ages of people in their teenage years and those who are considered young adults. This will be

clearly shown in our piece as the protagonists and peripheral characters will be an age within this guideline.

Our target audience will be people who show an interest in the unnatural and paranormal events in horror films prefer

the story's where antagonists such as ghosts or demons have a large involvement. We are attempting to have our sub-genre as a thriller so our target audience will be the

people who prefer to watch films that tend to want to thrill them and shock them, keeping them on the edge of their

seat at all times.
