PROGRESS REPORT FOR THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY– 2019

9th
FEBRUARY2019: 3rd
Grandparents day was celebrated by Staff and students of Primary
Wing under the guidance of our Principal Sir Dr.Janardan Pandey. To give meaning to this
celebration a Pre-invitation message was sent to all the parents of Primary Wing in the month
of December itself.
A scintillating show that left the audience simply spell bound …. was precisely what the
grandparents day was all about.
The Fiesta was marked by the gracious presence of Shri A.K Tiwari ED NTPC Vindhyachal
and Pro Vice Chairman DPS Vindhyanagar as chief guest.
Hearts elated with jubiliant spirit and strides of confidence. The ambience of the school
auditorium was afeast to the eyes.The little children greeted the Grand Angels by applying
Tilak on their forehead and pesented a rose flower to each one of them.
The programme took off with a soulful welcome dance by the little stars of LKG followed
by a skit “We need your presence not your presents” presented by Class I students. “Beti
Bachao Beti Padhao” was a dance drama presented by Class Prep and I students which had a
strong social message and this was followed by a musical play “The Journey Of
Bride”.The programme concluded with a medley of dances “Old Is Gold.”
In between the programme we had conducted games for the grandparents of classes LKG to
II. Every grandparent relived his childhood memoriesby playing the games which included
“Know your better half” , “Guess the jingle”, “Guess the Mukhada and perform on it”
etc. At the end of the game grandparents of each and every student were presented gift along
with a thank you card by our guests.
The chief guest in his speech whole heartedly praised and called it a magnificient
programme.
Our Principal Dr. Janardan Pandey very generously praised the Incharge and her team of 15
teachers for putting up such a remarkable programme.Our hearts elated with Joy to hear such
comments
It was the initiative taken by our Principal Dr. Janardan Pandey which inspired us to put up
such colourful extravaganza.
10th
FEBRUARY2019:Saraswati Puja was celebrated in DPS auditorium with religious
fervour. All the students and teachers offered floral tributes to the goddess of learning – “Ma
Saraswati” and chanted prayers in praise of her. An atmosphere of serenity and peace was
observed in the school environment.
The main puja was performed by our Principal Sir, Dr. Janardan Pandey and the purohit was
our very own Sanskrit Teacher Dr. B. P. Shastri. The puja celebration concluded with the
distribution of Prasad.

FEBRUARY2019: Two minutes silence was observed by all the classes to pray for the
departed soldiers of Pulwama massacre.
19th
FEBRUARY2019:Skill tests of E-IV commenced.
22nd
FEBRUARY 2019:Skill tests of E-IV concluded.

FEBRUARY 2019:Result of Science and Maths Olympiad declared.

The children enjoyed making rhyming words through picture visualisation method.

The students enjoyed making and colouring pictures by joining dots.
MATHS
The children learnt the concept of tens and ones by pasting bindis in their scrapbook.

The children learnt about the different Means of transport by making models of Air , Water
and Land transport.

The children learnt about the concept of Road Signs by doing an activity.

15th
February, 2019:
National Women‟s Day was celebrated in the school on 15th
February, 2019. A special
assembly was organised by class V-D. The students expressed their emotions and feelings
through skit, dance, speeches, PPT, quiz, etc. It was wonderful and mesmerizing assembly. It
was praised by one and all present in the auditorium.
The result for the first phase of Cyber Olympiad conducted by Science Olympiad Foundation
was declared. The list of students who had qualified for the 2nd

ST FEB.’19- MOTHER LANGUAGE DAY(SPECIAL ASSEMBLY):
Language is the spice of life and mother tongue has its own taste. A special assembly was conducted
by students to mark the “Mother Language Day” and varied programmes like dance, multi-lingual
skit and speeches were presented which made the entire presentation a worth watching one.
25TH
FEB.’19-ESSAY COMPETITION ON ‘ROAD SAFETY’:
A good number of students participated in the essay competition on „ROAD SAFETY‟ .It was
conducted by NTPC(V) .It enabled the students to have an enriching experience on essay writing and
gave a better understanding of the topic too.
ANNUAL EXAM’19:
The school atmosphere speaks of the approaching exams. for the session 2018-‟19.The end of
February upto mid-March is the period assigned for Annual Exams and students focused on their
syllabus and dedicated extra hours of study to do their best in the session 2018-‟19.
MEDAL WINNERS 2018-19(LEVEL 1):
Dipsites have made DPS(V) proud and once again let its flag soar higher by their outstanding
performance in various competitive examinations held by SOF(NATIONAL and INTERNATIONAL)
.Their number has been increasing all by the support and encouraging words of our honourable
Principal Sir and teachers. A good number have achieved their stand in the 2nd
phase too.

04.02.2019 - 15.02.2019 : Pre Boards-2 :Class 10:
To strengthen the students' performance for board examination and to ease them out from
examination stress, pre board examination was conducted.
6.2.19 - 20.2.19 : Annual Examination of class 9 & 11: Annual Examination for classes 9&11were conducted
as per schedule of the calendar.
PTM for class 10 & 12 Pre Board was held for the verification of the answer scripts
22.02.2019& 26.02.2019: Admit cards to the students of classes 12 th and 10th were
distributed.
28.01.2019 PTM for class 9 & 11: PTM was held to get the answer scripts verified by the
students.
CBSE acknowledged Dr. Janardan Pandey's (Principal DPS Vindhyanagar) vigilant ,
observant and leadership edge and appointed him City Co-Ordinator to supervise CBSE
board Examination 2018-19 taking place in Singrauli and an observer also for few schools of
the city .
