Motivation

The Delivery Service Level Reporting allows for predicationsconcerning one’s own delivery efficiency and backlog. Theevaluations can be used e.g. for

ISO certification (ISO9000, ISO/TS 16949)Quality audits of the customerSelf assessment versus the vendor evaluation (Quantityreliability / On-time delivery performance) of the customerThe assessment of plants within corporate groups

Page 16: Delivery Service Level with Backlog

SAP AG 2007, Automotive Consulting Solution, 16

Concept

At time of outbound delivery posting a table is filled with theactual state of the schedule line. This information stays inthe table even if changed schedule lines (quantity and duedates) are posted through forecast deliveryschedules/delivery schedules.A second program (performance) assesses the scheduleline data with adjustable criteria. A re-evaluation is alsopossible if for instance the criteria for the quantitativedesign changes. An online transaction shows different views (aggregations)of the evaluated data. The actual quantity/due date (GoodsIssue) can be compared with the target quantity/due date(Sales Document).

Subset of functions

Assessment of date requested by customer and/or confirmed date(ATP)Assessment of the delivery service level with/without reflection thebacklogOutput list / Selection of „Delivery Service Level overall” (Quantity +Date) quantity reliability and on-time delivery performanceExcel DownloadRe-evaluation of data after changes to customizing or master dataAggregation available (e.g. Sales Document, Sold-to Party, SalesOrganization, Ship-to Party, Customer Group, Plant)Foundation for analysis with SAP BW (Reporting SAP BW not includedin the SAP ACS)Program for deletion of evaluated, aggregated data recordsPerformance aspects (e.g. per day 900 deliveries are created with oneposition; one delivery can have 300 positions and every position couldrefer to more than one schedule line in a scheduling agreement)Customizing partly possible on the level of sold-to-/ship-to-party

Page 18: Delivery Service Level with Backlog

SAP AG 2007, Automotive Consulting Solution, 18

Subset Topics/Customizing (I)Transparent output of scheduling agreement- / -item- / -call- /schedule-line-numberPossible assessment of each schedule line: In the forecast deliverycall are schedule lines with “backlog“, “immediate requirement“,“preview”. All the schedule lines are supplied within one delivery.Every schedule line is evaluated separately.Allocation of Delivery Lines (multiple Deliveries of items / DeliveryLines, partial Delivery)Consideration of Transport Time e.g. via the Route (Topic:Deliveries ex works, Deliveries with the date of arrival at thecustomer plant)Handling of Over-/Under delivery (Quantity)Handling of variance days (preliminary leg/backlog)Contingent activation of the evaluation by plant / sales documentcategory / item category. Example: no delivery service levelreporting for return deliveriesCreation of handling units in the outbound delivery (HUMtolerances). Example: due to packing instructions the deliveryquantity needs to be rounded up.

Page 19: Delivery Service Level with Backlog

SAP AG 2007, Automotive Consulting Solution, 19

Subset Topics/Customizing (II)

Different date types of the schedule lines are considered. Example: Theforecast delivery schedule contains weekly format; delivery takes placetwice a week.Deletion of the outbound delivery / cancellation of the goods issueManual corrections with the indication of reasons and actionsSelection of additional trips (E.g. via a “Z-route”)The outbound delivery is created for a Sequenced Delivery Scheduletoday but the goods issue is posted the next morning/day (JITtolerance functionality)Processing with scheduling agreements (“repetitive manufacturing”)without ATP(Delivery Service Level based on date requested by customer)and/orProcessing with single orders (“retail”) with ATP(Delivery Service Level based on date requested by customer / ConfirmedDate (ATP))

Motivation/Definition „Backlog“

In addition to the deliveries, that are already posted goods issue(Delivery Service Level),

1. all “open”, delivery-relevant schedule linesas well as

2. all deliveries, that are not! posted goods issuecould be regarded and evaluated.

The assessment of the backlog is a on a key date measurement thatcould be calculated daily. There is the possibility of regardingthe backlog with respect to the date requested by customer aswell as confirmed date. Likewise, several aggregations could beused as a reporting function.
