OVERVIEW: LULAC is seeking six energetic undergraduate and/or graduate students interested in civic education, voter registration, Get Out the Vote, organizing, and mobilization. Candidates must have excellent oral and written communication, research, and organizational skills. Having organizer skills and/or campaign experience is a plus. The selected interns will assist with the development, management and execution of LULAC's Democracy 2020 program. Selected Interns will also assist in any other capacity needed as it pertains to LULAC’s yearly priorities. Selected Interns will oversee portfolios with programs serving diverse communities across the United States. Background: The League of United Latin American Citizens is the largest and oldest volunteer-based organization that empowers Hispanic Americans and builds strong Latino communities in the U.S. Headquartered in Washington, DC, with more than 1000 councils around the United States and Puerto Rico, LULAC’s programs, service and advocacy aim to address the most important issues affecting latinos today and build strong communities for the future. Assist in branding and program development logistics Support in outreach and recruitment Work to effectively Implement national campaignsWork with local labor and community leaders to design and executevoter registration drives Active recruitment and training of volunteers Work with local partners to uphold and strengthen collaborationswith other Latino organizations and networks.Assist in scheduling, planning and organizing events in HispaniccommunutiesAssist with community engagement research, including collection oftools, data, and resources.

All responsibilities are founded in collaborative efforts but eachintern will have a portfolio with specific goals and reporting systems.

All interns will gain professional experience in communityengagement, program development and coalition building. All interns will master how to develop and executive nationalcampaigns focused on empowering latinos and communities of color.All interns will increase their national network with directmentorship in how to build and maintain relationships All interns will gain access to primary trainings and resources to helpadvance their professional careers.
