RESEARCH FOCUS: Project leader for physiological and applied research on temperate-zone small fruit and tree fruit crops. Focus is to improve production systems by influencing stress physiology of crop plants by using plant growth regulators, training systems, protected culture, and biorational pesticides. An emphasis of the program has been to develop methods to delay spring-time flower bud development in order to reduce freeze damage.
