LANDSCAPE PLANNING AND IMPACT ANALYSIS CONTRIBUTE TO A WISE ALLOCATION OF THE RESOURCES OF THE LAND.
Ranging across landscape conservation to development planning, DEP are able to procure landscape schemes to suit budgets and design requirements in order to progress schemes through planning. We are able to provide impact assessments, collaborative masterplanning, design and access studies, Tree surveys, manage ecology and arboricutural inputs and produce photo visualisations.
Sustainability, biodiversity, sustainable drainage and combating global warming are now all components of the landscape planning process.

PROMOTING AND CONSERVING FINE LANDSCAPE, HARMONISING THE NEW WITH THE EXISTING.
Our work is concerned with the whole spectrum of promoting and conserving fi ne landscape. In any development which sets out to change the existing landscape, the erection of a building, the excavation of a quarry or the creation of a roof garden requires planning and design to harmonise the new with the existing.
Landscape design is based on the understanding of the scientifi c, functional, aesthetic and management considerations involved and how they interact.

Private schemes require a more personal approach - DEP is able to work closely with its private clients to develop a landscape solution which suits the their needs and desires. We develop our schemes to a detailed level, ensuring that the fi nal design will be realised. Liaising with contractors, overseeing construction and providing detailed solutions helps us to present the client a quality fi nal product.
Solving planning issues, conveying a scheme design and working closely with the client is key to the success of a private scheme.

ASSESSING CHARACTER, RETAINING AND ENHANCING LANDSCAPE ELEMENTS, TO FULFIL A PURPOSE.
In rural areas the emphasis is on agriculture, forest and tourist landscapes, on the siting, landscape design, and management of roads, windfarms, power- line routes, reservoirs, power stations, and the impact of extractive industries on the landscape.
As with the wider range of landscape endeavours, a project solution that is satisfactory in physical appearance, economic to create, sustainable to manage and fulfi lling its purpose, is the challenge.

WHAT WE DO.
CONSERVING FINE LANDSCAPE AND COMPLIMENTING HERITAGE WITHIN DESIGN.
Fine landscapes within a historical context, ranging from National Parks through to accessible coastline, all involves the landscape architect’s skills, visual awareness and sensitivity to adverse impacts. Our work on parks, historic town centres and on sites of wildlife and archaeological interest help promote and conserve fi ne landscape.
We work alongside developers and ecologists to provide solutions to habitat creation and enhancement even within a highly urban context. Developing schemes to provide habitat and foraging opportunities for the Black Redstart on a hotel scheme central Manchester is one such project.

WHAT WE DO.
LEARNING LANDSCAPES, SUSTAINABLE DRAINAGE AND GREEN INFRASTRUCTURE.
Campus design for Universities, Academy schools and the wider range of educational establishments, requires a sensitive approach but with robust solutions. The tramp of feet generation after generation throughout schools and universities will require campuses that are tough and delightful.
We also work on major business parks, designing sustainable drainage, providing a green infrastructure into the development pattern whether it be a research and development campus, an offi ce location or manufacturing conurbations such as Trafford Park in Manchester.
