21 October 2008Jade Jewellery awarded Retail, Supply Chain & Transport Implementationof the Year at the 4th annual ACN Arab Technology Awards 2008.

Jade Jewellery was presented with the Retail, Supply Chain & TransportImplementation of the Year award last night at the 4th Annual ACN ArabTechnology Awards, the most prestigious event dedicated to the region'senterprise & IT industry.

Organized by ITP Business Publishing, the lavish awards ceremony tookplace at the Westin Dubai, and gathered more than 400 of the region'sleading technology professionals, with the end user community, vendors,and enterprise integrators all represented.

The ACN Arab Technology Awards set out to raise the profile of theindustry and reward and recognize the region's best and brightestenterprises and their use of information technology.

Fourteen awards were presented at the ceremony in categories that covered a number of fields, from banking & financeimplementation of the year to professional services implementation of the year, and from IT department of the year to CIO of theyear. The winners were judged by a prestigious panel of industry experts, selected from within the regional enterprise and ITindustry. Accepting the award on behalf of Jade Jewellery, Edwin Chikhani, COO of DEPCO Systems, said: "Asset Trail-intelligent Store, developed & implemented by DEPCO Systems has contributed immensely in reducing shrinkage, increasingstore efficiency and providing a real time tool to monitor and control valuable goods."

DEPCO Systems chose to use RFID technology to track its valuable inventory and have developed a world class solutionreaped with benefits not available with competing vendors. The new system, Asset Trail, integrates equipment from threedifferent vendors to monitor, control and track tagged items, thus reducing potential loss of inventory.

The judges said this project "solved not just an inventory control problem but also instilled immense discipline in the workforce",and that the project "deserves to become a case study for other retailers." - Ends -
