Pan South African Language Board (PanSALB) is a statutory body established in terms of Act 59 of 1995 (as amended) for, inter alia, the creation of conditions for the development and for the promotion of equal use and enjoyment of all the official South African languages. PanSALB seeks to appoint results-driven, assertive and dedicated individuals to fill the following position at our Organisation Reference: 25/ 2020 DEPUTY DIRECTOR: INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT INFRASTRUCTURE Permanent post Salary Package: R733,257 per annum (All-inclusive package, of which a portion can be structured according to the individual’s needs) Reference: 25/2020 Location: Head Office (Pretoria) The purpose of the position is to ensure that PanSALB’s IT needs are met, including applications, networks and hardware operations. The role must focus on the development of synergies between existing infrastructure and architecting new concepts aligned to the evolution of PanSALB’s business needs. The incumbent is also responsible for the development of PanSALB’s IT business applications and the efficient deployment of such applications to all users. The incumbent must ensure maximum integration of all systems and effective running of such systems. Requirements: Applicants must be in possession of a Senior Certificate and a National Diploma /Degree in Information Technology, or equivalent qualification. At least 3-5 years’ experience in Information Technology, specifically in applications development, IT infrastructure development, sharp, .NET and SQL. Stakeholder liaison role financial administration background will be an advantage. Competencies required: Financial awareness, Inter-governmental relations, Public sector governance, Project management and administration, Knowledge of Communication Technology systems and procedures, Problem identification and solution development, Knowledge of hardware platforms and their capabilities and limitations, Software problem understanding and identification, Knowledge of XML/XSL, Knowledge of relevant server. Multi-task. Advance Computer literacy. Conflict resolution. Customer service. Compliance. Business acumen. Adaptability/ Flexibility. Decision Making. Planning and Organising. A valid drivers’ licence and preparedness to travel, work outside normal hours and willingness to accept responsibility and perform any other ad-hoc function as may be required. Sound knowledge of the PanSALB Act, assertiveness, Trustworthy, ethical and professional with integrity. Must be creative, self-driven, and results oriented. Ability to work Key Performance Areas: The successful incumbent will be expected to perform amongst others but not limited to the following tasks and responsibilities: Implementation IT strategy and Master Systems Plan; Implementation of infrastructure strategy; Implementation and evaluation of infrastructure systems Internet, intranet and telecoms systems; Monitor user access management; and configuration management; Business applications development; Ensure the availability and effective running of all systems; Applications deployment; Application hardware and software inventory; Implementation of Backup and recovery plans; Management of network design, tuning and optimisation. Maintain ownership for own work, performance management and development. Provision of ICT service desk and user support services. Define, negotiate, and manage agreements with external ICT service providers. Ensure compliance with governance requirements with regards ICT legislation and regulatory frameworks. Satisfy all ICT audit requirements. Maintain a secure and virus-free environment. Financial and human resources management of the ICT unit. Appointment of successful candidates will be strictly subject to the result/ outcome of Personnel Suitability Checks. PanSALB reserves the right not to make appointments.
