Short, broken-off hair shafts (exclamation point hair) appear as short stubs emerging from the bald scalp.

Multiple, confluent, involved sites on the scalp with "exclamation point hairs" and evidence of regrowth in areas.
Newly regrowing hairs may be fine and gray-white in color.

paronychia infection; both findings were
caused by Candida. in a patient with
advanced HIV disease .

formation, and is very

resulted in formation of a
pyogenic granuloma and Staphylococcus aureus infection of the subcutaneous tissue of the distal
phalanx; early abscess formation.
