CONCLUSION
The following is a list of project specifications:
• A valid mobile Sim card to be insert into the
system
• A specific notification receiver mobile number
to be set in the system
• Power supply condition notification sent from
the system
• ELR only be reset when the residual current is
clear
• Residual current limit and trip delay time can
be set manually
• Low power consumption ±25Wh
This project has proposed a promising solution for
remote control of RCCB operations. We are
believed that in the coming near future, this
proposed RCCB remote monitoring and control
solution can be applied in our household
electrical system.

A residual current circuit breaker (RCCB) is the
primary electrical protection system that can be
found in every home. As presented in this project
title, this project applies the current state of the
art mobile communication technology, namely,
Instant Messaging (IM) protocol to monitor and
control the RCCB operations. Therefore, this
project aims to improve the standard RCCB by,
firstly, it allows remote monitoring of the RCCB
tripping status that cause by leakage current in
our home electrical circuit. Second, it remotely
controls and reset the RCCB back to a normal
operating condition for restoration of the
electrical circuit activity in our home. However,
this remote control and reset function will only be
worked if a safe level of residual current being
identified by the microcontroller decision making
algorithm.
The following system flowchart shown the
operational steps of the proposed project.
The proposed project can be divided into three (3)
main modules, The figures in below shown the
designed circuits for the proposed project.
Experiment has been carried out to identify the
proposed functions and operation of the project.
Figures in below presented the experimental setup
and testing results.
To increase the efficiency of the operation, a
comparator is proposed to identify power outage
from the distributor, MCB trip or RCCB trip will be
added to the system.
