It took me endeavouring through many industries and numerous career paths, to come to realise, that only living my passion… my dream… and my believes can ever sustain my need for jubilant happiness. Being in the design industry for over 25 years…. I am today as much in love with my job, my industry and even the challenges this industry can give birth to on a daily basis as I was right in the beginning when I started out.

Born in South Africa with several very successful businesses behind me in Johannesburg, working and operating in different countries, cultures and a variety of arenas – Everything I have done… everything I have achieved… everything I am today is a soulful combination of creativity, mixed with a very strong practical logical mind-set and an unwavering passion for design and everything design.

Now take that combination and combine it with over 20 years of business experience and an Entrepreneurial frame of mind and you find yourself a highly skilled, experienced, competent, motivated and very passionate Design/Creative Director with more knowledge and experience than can be found in books.

I left South Africa 8 years ago to expand my business, Décor Beautiful cc, consisting of a design studio, furniture factory, curtain & blinds factory and retail outlet into the internationally markets. This decision took me into East Africa, West Africa, South Sudan, the US and Dubai where I established yet another growing successful design studio, Décor Design PTY Limited in Uganda before relocating to Dubai in 2015 to start a fully fletched Design Director Consultancy business in Dubai.

Within my design businesses we served industries such as Hospitality, F&B, Corporate and High End Residential with multi million dollar projects. • In the ever expanding industry of Interior Design - a Design/Creative Director usually is a position only found within big corporate companies specialising in Architecture, Interior Design and some times Property Development.

• Yet working without a Design/Creative Director in any of above industries - is like painting a canvas with your left hand (while being right handed)...You most surely can get it done – but in twice the time and probably with too many trial and error effects, that in the end influence the bottom line of the project’s - PROFITS

• As a Design Director peripheral vision is of the utmost importance… Striving to recognise design challenges way in advance… to reconcile problematic budgetary complications and THEN to be able to multi micro manage with an intentional singular focus within the different teams and projects all at the same time is THE most important aspect of a Design directors service to the team.

• Most companies claim they cant afford a Design/Creative Director and allocate the responsibilities to their less experienced Project or Design Managers – However it is my believe that companies big or small can not afford, NOT, to have a Design/Creative Director on their team - IF - they are interested in superb profits and growth, a warm, fuzzy, appreciative relationships with their clients and creative projects being executed with efficiency and with the least amount of snag management. This in return then results in repeating clients and projects as well as an increased ROI.

• Establish creative strategy, budgets & schedules for key design projects

• Lead and manage briefings with key clients

A CONSULTING DESIGN DIRECTOR • Consulting fees will be determined upon quantity of projects and amount of creative teams, the scale of

each project and geographic spread that requires management by the Consulting Design Director.

• Upon establishing the scope of work - the cost of the consulting services will be established in accordance to the suggested required amount of hours per day, per week or per month that needs to be allocated to the business and its projects.

• Cost excluded from the monthly retainer or fixed amount will consist of the following below and will be invoiced separately;

Traveling outside of Dubai borders, Traveling across borders or internationally, Accommodation while traveling with a food and beverage allowance as well as transportation and visa cost during traveling for each project.

• Even though the Design Director will not be a full time employee – a temporary dedicated office or work space will be required with all the general office facilities needed to enable execution of work during the periods of being in the office.
