Arteche’s capacitor bank provides reliable performances and fit in a very limited space marked by the extreme heat of the region. Solution: Arteche’s team designed and manufactured a customized capacitor bank that met all the customer’s specifications, tailored to fit in a very limited space and supplied the required reactive power maintaining the voltage level. It was designed in such a way that there was no need for a separate relay to control and monitor it, as the feeder relay executed this function, so the separate control box was eliminated.

Customer Requirements

CITY WALK needed a 11kV 390 kVAr Capacitor Bank with a 12/28/75 kV insulation level, able to fit in a very limited space.

The CITY WALK commercial building, located in Dubai, uses a chiller unit for air conditioning.

A chiller unit uses motors to circulate liquid through the heat exchanger, consuming reactive power in high amount and creating frequent voltage dips during its operation.

Arteche was able to offer an automatic capacitor bank as a solution for the successful operation of the power network by supplying the required reactive power and maintaining the voltage level.

Application and Implementation The Arteche’s capacitor bank supplied for this project was designed and manufactured by our highly qualified and experienced team in Spain.

The capacitor bank was customized to meet all the customer’s specifications, and tailored to fit in the limited space provided.

The auxiliary relays were installed on the power panel, eliminating the need for a separate control box. The capacitor bank was designed in such a way that there was no requirement for a separate relay to control and monitor the capacitor bank. This function was executed through capacitor bank feeder relay.
