Designing a Greek Building Collage
This is Belsay Hall in Northumberland. When it was built in the early 19th century, the owner of the Belsay estate Charles Monck was very interested in Greek architecture. He designed his new house to look like Greek temples he had seen when he visited Greece during his honeymoon.
