A new tender to purchase water en-titlements in the Queensland Lower Balonne catchment has been announced.

The tender will open 14 November andclose at 5.00pm AEDST 9 December 2011.

The purpose of the water purchas-ing program is to provide more water for the environment by purchasing entitle-ments currently held by irrigators. Inigatorsin the region specified below are invited tosubmit offers to the Australian Governmentto sell their water entitlements.

Sell offers will only be acceptedfrom the Qneensland Lower BalonneWater Management Area of the Murray-
