DII ASSISTING CUSTOMERS
Larry Barrios was out this week. In his stead, Anthony Melton acted as lead in DII. He did a great job. Way to go, Anthony!

While sitting in for Larry Barrios, Anthony Melton was able to attend the TELPAS meeting at the Berry Center. This meeting was with Celia Delapiedra, Testing Department, and was held on Tuesday. Also present was Dearly Buentello who is listed as one of Technology Support representatives. Derly got up and spoke to Celia and her Secondary team about testing and where to find TELPAS in the LANDESK Workspaces window.
The Elementary staff meeting was held on Wednesday. Anthony, Derly and Lillie attended the meeting. Lillie was able to talk about launching TELPAS from the LANDESK window and explained that they would have onsite support via the campus technician.
While sitting in for Larry, Anthony continued to work on the Low Voltage project. This project involved working with Marvin Banks. The scope of the project was to get 16bit and 32bit diagnostic software for equipment in the district to work on new setup. Joshand Anthony were able to get a system working for the Low Voltage team. Josh was able to get their programs to work with an express serial port card. Sometime next week, Bryan and Josh will be testing the software and the serial port card.

Derly Buentello and Lillie Swearingen did quick presentations regarding the use of the TestNav application for state testing. Celia Delapiedra from the Testing department led the sessions and was very appreciate of Derly and Lillie taking the time to present and answer questions.

Horne Elementary reported that the iStation app was not opening correctly on their 50+ iPads. Nancy Grellaadvised the Campus Technician that the fix was to reinstall the app from the CFISD App Catalog. The Campus Tech reported that they were stilling having issues, so Nancy and Michelle Campos went to Horne to assist the Librarian with resolving the problems

DII –Larry in Austin TCEA
This past week, Larry Barrios along with other Technology Managers (Paula Ross, Jay Johnson, John Crumbley, and Jennifer Miller) were fortunate enough to attend TCEA (Texas Computer Education Association) in Austin. TCEA is a member-based organization devoted to the use of technology in education. TCEA’s primary focus is on integrating technology into the PreK-12 environment and providing members with state-of-the-art information through conferences, workshops, newsletters, the Internet, and collaborations with higher education and business. This past week in Austin, more than 1,000 sessions awaited the team with an amazing array of sought-after presenters and prominent keynotes speakers from all over.

TCEA 2017
TCEA is a place to connect with Vendors.
Larry Barrios, was able to meet with
Promethean at TCEA in a invitation only
meeting. The purpose of the meeting was to
try and understand what large school
districts are looking for, to understand the
customer needs. In the meeting Larry was
able to preview upcoming features and
asked to critique current features. This is
time well spend and will benefit others in the
long run.
TCEA is a place to connect with Vendors.
Larry also spend time with Lynn (our Lenovo
rep) and was able to meet Donzell Newkirk,
Lenovo Google Chromebook expert. Larry
along with Klien ISD, was able to talk and ask
questions pertaining to direction of Lenovo
Chromebooks.
