• Bharti Foundation

– Bharti Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Bharti Group Companies.

– The prime objective is to bridge the existing education divide and make quality education accessible to underprivileged children in rural India.

– The Foundation aims to help underprivileged children and young people of our country realize their potential.

• Satya Bharti School Program

– The Satya Bharti School Program is the flagship program of Bharti Foundation.

– It aims to deliver free quality education to underprivileged children, with special focus on the girl child across rural India.

– Present Operational Status:

• Number of Schools Operational: 250

• States of Operation: Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh & Tamil Nadu

• Number of Students Enrolled: Over 35,000( Approx)

About the Community

• Geographical Location: Dhani Minan, a village as it is resembled by its name, majority of population is of Meena community coming under ST category. Centrally located in the Achrol gram panchyat, 5 KM ahed from Achrol. There is no conveyance facility for the village.

• Cultural Background: People mainly depends on Business and Agriculture. Males of this village are addict of alcohol. Although they are sending their children to the school but many people don’t know the importance of education.

• Role of Satya Bharti School in the Village: Our school is supported and an example of real model of public-private-partnership. In spite of several private schools the parents wants to admit their children in our schools and supporting us. Satya Bharti School is not only proved to be the school but a movement to change whole locality with respect to many social evils prior existing in the village but through our regular efforts, transformation is happening.

• Participation in ‘Design for change’ School Contest: There was a great need to conduct this campaign.Since there are a lot of students, the people are not aware about the importance of education.

• We saw many time the parents of our students don’t take intrest in the education work of the students.

• At the time of crops they stop their child at the home for farming work.

• In the PTMs they don’t show the intrest in the acadmic growth of their child.

• Whenever we call a meeting regarding education they don’t come.

We ‘Felt’:

• To create an atmosphere where there is not a little bit of illiteracy.

• Every where we will get a , which give us happy life .

• We will try to light a lamp of education with the help of our elders and friends.

• We will go to the female of this village and try to teach them.

• We will make our village 100% educated with the help of our teachers, Youth and elder brothers/Sisters.

the parents .We play a role at the middle

of the village and put our massage in front of the

community

Impact on Community:Community people listen our massage carefully and started to support on the spot.

When our teacher went to him/her to take the signature they accepted and sign it.

People pledge that they will send their children to the school regularly and also to start read from them. They appreciated us for our social work.

• Students are now more motivated now.• Encouraged to take initiatives.• Can plan and implement.• Enhanced leadership and team spirit among the students.• Ignited the feeling of ownership among the students• There is now more association and bonding among students to

think innovatively and creatively.• It is now reflected that our students proved the theory of Bloom

Taxonomy – Recall, Knowledge, Comprehension, Application, Analysis, Synthesis and Evaluation through this campaign

• Teachers were feel more empowered in the process of execution and implementation and wined the more faith of the people.

• Teachers got appreciation and positive responses from the community, which added jewel to their rapport and identification as a social activist for a social change.

Experience of Community Members & Teachers:

• Mangej Meena – The whole process is very effective and want to adapt these all learning in our life.

• Babulal Meena– From now I will try to teach my wife also. • Manju Meena(Class Vth) – I learned from my teachers, that how

to raise voice against the social evils and to speak up. • Komal Meena (Class Vth) – How to be fearless and bold before

the people to make aware them what is bad and what is wrong. • Moolchand Pingoliya & Team– My students are my teachers,

what it seems to me in this campaign, really their so effective way to present their thought and ideas to make the society educated, makes us so happy. I feel proud to be their teacher, if this small age they have such efficiency than what will be when they grow young.

• The more such campaigns will be organized by the community members.

• There will be a meeting of absent persons from this campaigns.

• The list of uneducated persons will be display at panchayat.

There will be a youth team to teach the elders of the village.

• Each student will teach their parents and try to make them at least primary level.
