GI test measures relative increase in blood glucose for test food versus glucose as per WHO test method & classification: GI< 55 = Low GI Foods
GI of 55-70 = Intermediate GI foods
GI>70 = High GI Foods
The glycemic load (GL) of food is a number that estimates how much the food will raise a person's blood glucose level after eating it.
GL classification is as follows GL < 10 = Low GL GL of 11-19 = Medium GL GL>20 = High GL
GL = Carbohydrate content (grams) in food x GI100
GI = Incremental Area Under the Curve for DiaBliss Sugar
Incremental Area Under the Curve for Glucose
X 100
GI is intrinsic property of food whereas GL is based on GI and the amount of carbohydrates consumed
