For those more interested in the fauna, there are plenty of hunting opportunities throughout the year.So, when should you book your visit?
Red Deer
The season for hunting Red Deer Stags is from the 1st July to the 20th October.The season for Red Deer Hinds is from the 21st October to 15th February.
Red Deer are out of season between the 16th February and 30th June
Roe Deer
Roe Deer Bucks can be hunted from the 1st April to the 20th October.For Roe Deer Does, your season is from the 21st October to the 31st March.
Unlike Red Deer, you can hunt Roe Deer all year round.
Grouse
SnipeBoth Grouse and Snipe can be hunted from the 12th August to the 10th December.
The opening day of the season is commonly known as the Glorious Twelfth.This date has been established since 1773!
PheasantThe Pheasant hunting season begins on the 1st October and runs until the 31st January.
Remember to wrap up warm!
Pheasant is a great alternative to turkey for Christmas Dinner!
Partridge, WoodcockGeese, Ducks
Partridge, Woodcock, Geese and Ducks are all in season between the 1st September and the 31st January.Woodcock offer a great challenge because of their size!
Pigeon
Pigeon shooting is available from February to September.It requires a great deal of patience as you wait to take your shot, as well as a quick aim!
Mountain/White HareRabbit
Mountain hares or white hares can be hunted from November to March.
The rabbit hunting season is slightly longer, running from October to March.Both rabbits and hares provide great sport for rough shooting.
