Having worked very hard this term, the following students will be taking their LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) Acting exams this weekend. Our good luck wishes go to:

Break a leg!
=== Fun Fact ===
The origin of the phrase “break a leg” is unknown and disputed. It is generally thought, the term “break a leg” was used to discourage evil spirits from deliberately causing a bad performance and that “good luck” would actually cause bad luck for the actor. Therefore, “break a leg”, by this logic, is a wish for good luck. What a paradox!
STEM PROJECT – ALL YEAR GROUPS
We are looking for a group of
students from any year group that
would be interested in entering a
STEM competition. This will involve
modifying a remote control car to
complete a set of tasks. These
tasks will include making the car
follow a set route without user
input, follow a route and dock at a
charging station, detect changes in
the surface, detect objects on a
route and change route
accordingly. For more information
and to get involved we are holding
an informal meeting on
Wednesday 28 November at
13.30 in the CLT.

MATHS PUZZLES FROM MS PRYDDEN!
Have a try with these maths puzzles and earn a green dot!
Come to see Ms Prydden with your answers to earn your reward. There will be new maths puzzles every week!
Congratulations to David Beddoes who correctly calculated that there were 20 triangles in the picture and that the frog would take 28 days to jump out of the hole from last week’s newsletter.
With the Wenlock Christmas market on Saturday 1 December fast approaching, Friends of William Brookes need your help!
We will be running the famous Chocolate Tombola again and therefore need vast qualities of chocolate donations! Could all parents, students and staff help us raise as much money as possible for the school by sending chocolate in over the next couple of weeks please. Students should bring in chocolate donations to their tutors, who will reward that student with a Coubertin green dot. Chocolate drop off for parents is main reception. If you label with your son/daughter name - Miss Watkins and Mr Spilsburywill ensure the Coubertin award is put on class charts!
Also we are running the Christmas raffle again with a whopping £100 cash prize to be won. There will be two packs of raffle tickets sent via you son/daughter (youngest sibling). if you would like to purchase raffle tickets please send the cash via your child to student services.
As ever we really appreciate your support and we look forward to continuing support the school with enrichment activities for the students. Thank you!
