The deadline for payment is Friday, June 29, 2012. There is a property tax rebate for qualifying seniors. Census 2012 - Door-to-door collection beginsThe online census is closed. Between May 23 and June 6, census workers are visiting door-to-door to collect census information from households that did not complete their census online. Residents advised to take precautions to avoid wildfiresEven though the May fire ban has been lifted, and even though we have had some rain, County residents are reminded to take precautions to avoid wildfires. Overflow parking lot for transit commuters closes Due to construction of the Anthony Henday highway, the overflow parking lot on Fir Street, west of the Sherwood Park Transit Centre, will be permanently closed as of May 28. The closure of this lot will result in significantly less parking. Parkade parking and some street parking is still available. Observe no-parking signs. Plans for new pool, spray park and renovationsCouncil approved the Aquatic Strategy’s recommendations for revitalizing Kinsmen Leisure Centre and Millennium Place aquatic spaces (2014 target completion), a large spray park at Broadmoor Lake Park (2013/2014 construction) and a new aquatic facility at Emerald Hills (2015 opening target).
