Definition: Interactive art is a piece of art that involves the spectator in some way. Some sculptures achieve this by letting the observer walk in, on, and around the piece. Other works include computers and sensors to respond to motion, heat or other types of input. Many pieces of Internet art and electronic art are highly interactive.

Examples of how technology has been used with Art
Websites for different artists that may already be dead with a photo of their artwork and information about the artist. For example, Mozart’s manuscripts can be found online.
Mona Lisa’s smile is decoded by computer. The computer software developer loaded average, neutral expressions of female faces into a database, which the software used to compare the painting again.
The original manuscript of Alice in Wonderland posted online by the British Library using software to virtually turn the pages.
Canadian scientists used laser and infrared scans to produce a 3D image of the Mona Lisa.

can be changed automatically from the control computer all at the same time. This is less time
consuming and safer.Next

Intellectual Property - It is so easy to come to a performance and bring a camera phone with video-recording capabilities and record small scenes and upload them in websites and video album websites such as Youtube.
Globalization and Cultural Diversity – Technology has helped the recording of different performances and uploading them. Different performances such as cultural dances can be recorded and uploaded. This may lead to less diversity and cultural homogeneity as what makes a group of people different will reach more people. Everyone may want to live a certain lifestyle as people may like to live ghetto because of their love for hip-hop dance and music. People may want to start learning how to salsa because of adoration for adoration.

Positive Negative
Arts & Entertainment
More images to look at. More interactive where one can mouse
over something and the piece of art changes in some way.
Art won’t be exposed as much as more people would view the art
online instead of physically going there.
One may not go out to an art gallery but just online on
the computer.
Business & employment
More jobs created to develop the technology. For example, online art
galleries.
Museums/Galleries may have redundancies as
galleries may have less flow.

Ideas may come from what one has discovered not oneself. Someone may
adapt different artwork into their own. Causes
plagiarism.

Areas of Impact :Live ArtsBack
Positive Negative
Arts & Entertainment More effects on stage may be more interesting.
Causes pulling away from the actual performance but
on the special effects.
Business & Employment
More jobs created controlling the technology. For example controlling the
lights and sounds.Cheaper also as a full on set
doesn’t have to be built.
Maybe more redundancies as jobs may be replaced by
machines.
Education More opportunities to find out about different
productions being held around the region. More opportunities for Drama
classes to watch.People may understand
literature better by watching a performance.
Instead of reading a book on a play, students may choose
just to watch the play to avoid hours of reading.
