O RGANIZING D IGITAL S TORYTELLING F ILES Keepingfilesorganizedandcorrectlyidentifiedfromthebeginningoftheprojectwillminimizeconfusionandtime spentsortingoutfilesattheendoftheproject.Eachstudentwillgenerateatleast15to20differentfilesfora projectwithveryshortstories.Youcanseethatthenumberofdigitalfilesgeneratedbyaclasscanbeenormous. Thefollowingprojectmanagementstrategieswillhelpkeeptheprojectorganized: Allprojectmaterialsaresavedinthesamesetofsubfoldersthatarehousedinonemainfolder.Noneofthe digitalfilesshouldbesavedoutsideofthemainfolder.Thiswillbeveryhelpfulifbyanychancethestudentstarts theprojectononecomputerandneedstofinishitonanother. Thenameonallfolders,subfoldersandfilescontainthenameofthestudent.Themainfoldershouldbenamed withthestudentsfirstandlastname.Otherfoldersandfilescanhavethestudentsinitials.Thisisthesame principalashavingstudentsputtheirnameonalltheirworkdoneonpaper. Astheteacher,youperiodicallychecktomakesurethatthefoldersareorganized.Wesuggestthat,asyoulookat thefolderstocheckoffworkthatisdue,youlookatallthefolderstodoublecheckthatthestudentsare maintainingalltheirfilesorganized.
