Ad mission information

Online filling up of forms for admission to honours and general

courses at the undergraduate level will open

(onlinedinabandhumahavidyalaya.org) 24 hours after the

publication of the result of Higher Secondary Examination(2015) of

W.B.C.H.S.E.

The B.A. / B.Sc. / B.Com. degree (honours / general) is meant for

those who have passed the Higher Secondary Examination

conducted by the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary

Education in 10+2 pattern or an examination recognized as

equivalent by the West Bengal State University , Barasat, provided

she/he has passed at least in five subjects with English as a

compulsory subject.

Students who have passed 10+2 in 2013 and 2014 are also eligible

to apply.

The eligibility criteria, as furnished by the West Bengal State

University for admission to first year regular honours courses, are as

follows :

a) For general category students:

i) A minimum of 50 % marks in the aggregate and 45 % in the subject or

related subject at the previous qualifying examination.

OR

ii) At least 55% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous

qualifying examination.

b) For SC or ST category students:

i) A minimum of 40 % marks in the aggregate and 40 % marks in the

subject or related subjects at the previous qualifying examination.

For honours course merit marks calculation formula:

Merit Marks = best of four subjects + subject marks

Four of the best marks scored by the candidate concerned in the HS

level shall be considered. Marks scored in Environmental Study

shall never be taken into consideration.

Merit points for a subject which the student has opted for but has not

qualified in the HS Exam. shall be calculated as “0”.

For general course merit marks calculation formula:

Merit marks = total marks of best of five subjects

(Best five scores shall be considered among the subjects taken by

the candidate in HS level except Environmental Study.)

Merit lists to be displayed on the college notice board and college

website and the enlisted candidates shall be asked to appear on the

date mentioned therein along with the following documents for

counselling :

i)mark-sheet of the last qualifying examination( in original),

ii) caste certificate (if any, in original),

iii) disability certificate (if any),

iv) school leaving certificate( in original),

v) proof of residence (voter ID, ration card or adhaar card ,in original),

and

vi) 2(two) recent passport size photographs ,

failing which their claim for admission shall be considered void.

Students of boards other than West Bengal Council of Higher

Secondary Education are eligible to apply only on production of

Migration Certificate. Students from Open School (Mukta Vidyalaya)

or Distance Education are not eligible to apply.

Procedure

1. A student can opt for not more than one honours subject in

one single application form.

2. Incomplete forms shall be treated as cancelled.

3. Applicants are advised to go through the guidelines carefully

before filling in the application form online.

4. Before filling in the form applicants are advised to post a soft

copy of his/her latest passport-size photograph online so that it

can be uploaded onto the form.

5. On completion of the filling up of the form, the applicant

shall receive a three-part challan from which the college

counterpart and the bank counterpart should be submitted

to Axis Bank, Bongaon Branch along with the payment of

Rs. 80/-( Rs. Eighty only) per form(both honours and

general) or by Internet -banking system.

6. On being selected, the candidate shall have to submit a copy

of the printed form with his/her signature on it at the admission

counter of Dinabandhu Mahavidyalaya.

7. Merit lists will be available at the website

www.dinabandhumahavidyalaya.org and shall also be on display

on the college notice board.

8. Admission schedule will be announced after completion of form

fill-up process and the publication of merit list.

9. The admission is purely provisional and shall be subject to

cancellation in case any error/ discrepancy is noticed , or any

essential detail is not mentioned.

10. The form fill-up and admission schedule are subject to last

minute change or postponement without prior notice. Hence,

candidates are advised to check the college website at regular

intervals for latest updates.
