• What do direct objects do?

- receives the action of the verb

- answers the question

whom or what?

(say…subject, verb then whom or what?)

• no need to keep repeating, repeating, repeating!

Direct Objects

-can be replaced by a direct object pronoun

-located after conjugated verb

Direct Object Pronouns

-replaces direct object in a sentence

-3 possibilities for placement: before conjugated verb, attached to present participle or attached to an infinitive
