DIRECTIONS Hagley Museum Library and Soda House 298 Buck Road Wilmington, DE 19807 Visitor parking is in front and side of the Library building or in front of the Soda House. From the south: Take I-95 north to exit 5B (Newport exit) in Delaware. Follow Route 141 north for 7 miles. Turn left onto Route 100 north. At the traffic light, make a right onto Buck Road East. After the stop sign, go straight through the gates and follow signs to the Library or Soda House. From the north: Take I-95 south to exit 8B (West Chester exit) in Delaware. Follow Route 202 north (Concord Pike) for 1.3 miles. Stay in the left lane to turn left onto Route 141. Follow Route 141 south for 2 miles, get into the right lane to turn right onto the bridge. After crossing the bridge, turn right at the next traffic light onto Route 100 north. At the next traffic light, make a right onto Buck Road East. After the stop sign, go straight through the gates and follow signs to the Library. From West Chester area: Take Route 52 south and continue into Delaware. Shortly after the intersection with Route 82, you will pass a shopping center on your left. Stay in the left lane and watch for the intersection with Buck Road. Make a left at the light onto Buck Road. Go straight at the next traffic light (staying on Buck Road). After the stop sign, go straight through the gates and follow signs to the Library or Soda House. From Route 202 area: Take Route 202 south to Route 141 south. Follow Route 141 south to the intersection with Route 100. Turn right onto Route 100 north. At the traffic light, make a right onto Buck Road East. fifth annual symposium offers classroom

lectures, hands-on training, and exhibits offering

the latest knowledge and techniques for those

interested in proper tree care and safety. Topics

include: crane safety for tree care workers, CPR

and first aid, pesticide safety, mature tree care and hazard risk

assessment, and new tree and shrubs.

Thomas Whitelock of Advanced Arborist

Solutions is scheduled to present a session

on advanced climbing for tree professionals.

Whitelock is a champion climber and tree care

professional who placed first in the 2013 MAC-

ISA event in the Aerial Rescue and Belayed Climb

events who spoke at the 2014 arborist seminar. Thomas Whitelock

Jason Lubar of Morris Arboretum will present sessions on mature tree care and tree risk assessment. With Morris Arboretum Urban Forestry Consultants for more than a decade, Lubar has worked extensively with local urban forestry organizations and co-founded the Wissahickon Stewardship Program, a community natural resource management program in Philadelphia’s Fairmount Park. Dr. Amy E. Brown of the University of Maryland will present a talk on pesticide safety. Affiliated with Maryland’s Institute of Applied Environmental Health, Brown is a published expert devoted to improving pesticide applicators' knowledge and skills to minimize potential effects on human health and the environment through the Maryland Pesticide Safety Education Program. Jason Henning of the Davey Institute and the U.S. Forest Service’s Urban Field Station in Philadelphia will present a talk on “i-Tree Tools and their Application in Urban Forestry.”
