Taxis from the railway station:
The quickest way to reach the University from the railway station is by taxi from the rank at
the main entrance to the station. Just ask the taxi driver for the University of Leeds, Leeds
University Union on Lifton Place just off Cromer Terrace.
Buses from the railway station:
When you leave the railway station you will find yourself in "City Square" (actually a triangle!).
Across the Square to your left is the main Post Office. The street which runs to the right of the
Post Office as you look at it is "Infirmary Street", where there are many bus stands. All buses
(e.g. numbers 1, 63B, 93, 95 and 96A) from stand B (except limited stop buses whose numbers
are prefixed by X) go to the main entrance of the University. Tell the bus driver your stop is
"Woodhouse Lane/University Parkinson steps". The journey usually takes about 15 minutes.
On foot from the railway station:
The University campus is a pleasant 20 minute walk from Leeds city station. Just follow the
directions below and you'll be with us in no time at all: Come out of the station into City
square; with the Queens Hotel behind you, walk straight up Park Row. Continue up Park Row
until the first major junction. Cross straight over The Headrow and continue up Cookridge
Street. At the next set of lights go straight on passing Millennium Square on your left and
Leeds City Museum on your right.
Turn left on to Woodhouse Lane, a busy main road. You'll pass Leeds Metropolitan University
on your left and our University campus begins in another 50 metres or so, on your left. To
reach the Parkinson building, carry on up Woodhouse Lane to the clocktower building. You'llbe able to look at a map of campus there and plan where to go next. Leeds University Union
