Director of Coaching Reports directly to Minot Soccer Association President
Position Summary
• Provide direction and experience to players, coaches and parents of Minot
Soccer Association competitive programs; enhancing soccer throughout the Minot community Qualifications
• Licensure: USSF License, or equivalent license and experience • Bachelor’s Degree preferred • Demonstrates leadership qualities • Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills • Organizational and time management skills • Ability to relate to and motivate youth and adults • Possess integrity and follow ethically sound standards • Committed to working a non-traditional work schedule • Ability to develop and execute a vision for the future success of the club
Objectives
• Instill a passion for playing soccer and love of the game in all players, increasing
their desire to play soccer • Assist and provide guidance to the recreation coordinators • Create strong competitive soccer players and enhance skill level of all players • Improve the quality of competitive coaches • Create a curriculum that is consistent and specific to each age level for the
competitive program • Encourage and assist coaches to recruit recreation players into the competitive
program

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Competitive program
• Develop and maintain specific documented curriculum for each age group and communicate to coaches, board, and parents
• Assign qualified coaches appropriately to teams such that; o Coaches skills are utilized first and foremost to maximize player
development o Secondly coaching skills are optimized for coach development.
• Train, monitor, and provide clear direction to coaches with assisting them in planning and conducting skills and practice sessions
• Evaluate coaches based on performances; any reassignment or termination must be presented to the executive directors.
• Guide and oversee coaches on tournament team development in order to 1) maximize player development and, 2) advance team goals and 3) advance club goals. If a conflict should arise, player development shall take precedence.
• Provide guidance to coaches on match management and interaction with parents and club officials
• Work with NDSA to support ODP programs to ensure maximum exposure of all qualified players within MSA program.
• Research and recommend age and skill appropriate club tournaments with the assistance from all coaches.
• Provide information and opportunities for advanced level training, preparing players for next level and college opportunities
o Report quarterly to board, the overall club progress. • Represent club at functions, meetings and events as directed by MSA Board • Attend and observe practices monthly or as requested of each competitive
team/pool. Miscellaneous Duties
• Attend monthly Board of Director meetings and other meetings as required • Assist recreational coordinators in responding to inquires made to MSA
regarding policy clarifications, player placement, team formation and other issues
• Encouraged to coach one competitive team, depending on the status of the club or as determined by the board of directors
