Director of Youth Ministry and Catechesis The Diocese of Crookston is seeking a full time Director of the Office of Youth Ministry and Catechesis. This office serves the pastors, parish youth ministers and parish directors of religious education and formation. The candidate is a voice in the diocese for young people. The candidate will coordinate diocesan youth activities (camps, rallies, trainings, etc.) with the assistance of par-ish employees and volunteers. The candidate will also conduct training sessions for catechesis in parishes. Applicants should have education and experience in the areas of youth ministry and religious education. What a great time of year to take care of your spiritual health! Many in our diocese have attended Cursillo weekends over the years and give great testimony to the power of such weekends. Cursillo is pronounced KER-SEE-O meaning - short course in Christianity. Weekends are being this spring at Sand Hill Bible Camp, just south of Fosston. The weekends include quiet time, inspirational talks, and most importantly, time to be with Jesus with-out the many distractions of daily life. Grow closer to Jesus by tak-ing the time to join us. BLESSING OF THROATS: Next Saturday is the feast of St. Blaise who we associate with the healing of throats. Because it falls on Saturday that is close to the Sunday celebration of Eucharist and because there will be large numbers of people at each of the weekend Masses we will give the traditional blessing of St. Blaise at the conclusion of each of the Masses.

THE PARISH EXTENDS ITS SYMPATHY to the family of THOMAS HOCKMAN, whose Mass of Remembrance will be on Friday at 1:30 P.M. at Ecumen-Emmanuel Nursing Home and to the family of Donna Lee Conlon, whose funeral was last Wednesday here in Detroit Lakes. We also wish to extend sympathy to the sisters of Mount St. Benedict Monastery and families of SISTER YVONNE SCHAFER and SISTER DOLORES NORMAN who both passed away this past week. Over the years both sisters taught at Holy Rosary School and other Catholic Schools in the Diocese. May their memories continue to be a blessing!

I will be gone from the parish beginning Tuesday of this week to enjoy a little time in the warmer climes of our country. I will return on Thursday, February 8. We want to make you aware of the plans for a Super Bowl non-alcohol family party to be held at Holy Rosary on

February 4, starting at 4:30 pm. The Knights, along with other businesses are sponsoring this party and it will be for members of all 4 parishes served by the knights. thanked. All monies received will be used for the party, whether it is for food, decorations or prizes! All are welcome, and, in case you haven’t seen them, Holy Rosary recently installed 2 new TV’s downstairs that are quite large and will help facilitate a get together like this! We will have food, fun and football! If you are interested in helping with the planning or coordinating of the party, please contact Jon Stone. This is an event for the entire family. So we hope to see many of you. If the kids like to shoot hoops, or toss a football around, bring the balls and the Gym will be available for them to play in. The rosary is recited every Sunday starting at 10:30 am in the church. All are invited to pray along! The rosary is also recited every Wednesday morning at 8:30 am in the Parish Living Room.

BAPTISMS are not encouraged during Lent so please consider your child’s baptism either before Lent or on Easter. Contact Monsignor Tim if you want your child baptized. Lent begins on February 14 and Easter is on April 1.

Volunteers needed...St. Mary’s Hospital is in need of a couple of volunteers in helping bring the Eucharist to the patients. One is for Tuesdays in the hospital for communion ministry (will need to be commissioned as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion first, then will need to go through hospital application & orientation, then will orient into the actual ministry). The other is for Sundays in the hospital for communion ministry (will need to be commissioned as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion first, then will need to go through hospital application and orientation, then will orient into the actual ministry). We live in a world where we are constantly in search for fleeting pleasures in place of true happiness and false promises that actually lead us away from happiness, it’s time more than ever to turn to the Beatitudes and enter into the Kingdom of Happiness. With King-dom of Happiness you will learn how the Beatitudes are much more than nice sayings, they are the path to true happiness charted by Christ himself. You will discover the exposed “anti-Beatitudes” for what they are: the kingdom of man’s false promises of happiness that sadly, only lead to misery. In this program, you will also be inspired by a renewed resolve to live the Beatitudes through video-profiles of real-life people living the Beatitudes in their everyday life. Lifeline: Follow Me (No, Jesus isn’t talking about Instagram): Mass and Evening Program with Archbishop Bernard Hebda and Fr. David Blume: It’s the most important invitation you’ll ever receive in your life. It’s the invitation of Jesus who says to you, “Follow Me.” It’s the very same invitation Jesus extended to his first disciples. They were leading very ordinary lives. All of that changed when they encountered Jesus and responded to His invitation to “Follow Me.” And the world has never been the same. Without fail, through the centuries of the Church, countless thou-sands upon thousands of courageous Catholic young men and women have responded to that same invitation. For some, it is a call to live a holy, faithful life in marriage or the sacred consecrat-ed single life. But for others, Jesus extends a special call, a call to those willing to boldly serve the Church as a priest or religious brother or sister. Have you considered this call? St. John Paul II Middle School Camp: St. John Paul II Middle School Camp is designed to empower young people entering grades 7-9 to become disciples of Jesus Christ by engaging them in prayer, worship, leadership skill development, scriptural reflection, and service learning. This camp is designed for youth who have a desire to grow in their faith and share that faith back home in parish and family life.

The theme for this years camp is “Wild and Untamed” and will explore the role of the Holy Spirit in our daily spiritual life. Through keynote talks, men’s and women’s, small group discussion, and much more, we will equip every camper with a better understanding of Holy Spirit in our lives.

What are we asking of you? Join us in being an “Everyday Angel”. Check the bulletin to see if any of the needed items match what you have and no longer need. These items do not need to be new; we welcome gently used items in good, clean condition. Should you have other items not included on the wish list, feel free to donate those as well. We will ensure they are stored for future use and distributed accordingly. Needed items include coats, footwear, clothing, bedding, school supplies, toys and games.

Bring items to Holy Rosary and place in the “Everyday Angel” box in the welcoming center. How gratifying to know that our unused and outgrown items can make a huge difference in the life of someone else! Below please find our 28th family in need. This grandmother is raising her 6 grandchildren. She was

living in a one bedroom apartment but has recently moved

into a rented 3 bedroom house. The children’s parents left

the children and want nothing to do with them. This family

desperately needs a couple full/queen beds and bedding,

2 twin beds & or bunkbeds, twin bedding, bath towels,

silverware, kitchenware – plates, cups, etc., living room

furniture- end tables, lamps, etc.
