“ARMOR-TEK ” CARCASS CONSTRUCTIONCooper’s proprietary and proven full 3-ply carcass construction inthe tread and sidewall provides 50% more protection against impactdamage than standard 2-ply tyres. The third ply is oriented at anoptimal angle to the first two plys to maximize carcass protectionin extreme off-road conditions.

3-2 INNER TREAD RIBSThe inner tread ribs of the Discoverer STT Pro are positioned in analternating 3-2 pattern. This unique hybrid design provides a numberof significant performance benefits like: reduced road noise,increased stability and handling, superior soft surface (trail) andmud traction, balanced wear, and reduced tendency for vehicle driftcommonly experienced on fitments with aggressive off-road tyres.

LARGE DEPTH SIDE BITERSThe Discoverer STT Pro features large, specially-designed cleats ofrubber (side biters) on the shoulder area of the sidewall, to enhancetraction and grip in muddy or soft terrains and in rock crawlingsituations where maximum grip is essential. The orientation anddesign of these cleats promotes traction on inclines, reducing thechances of tyre side-slip.

FLEX GROOVEThe “flex groove” is a small, circumferential groove in the buttressregion that generates a designed flex point in the tyre. This abilityto flex in a predetermined location provides a smoother ride byhelping to dampen the impact generated by inconsistencies inpavement, potholes and gravel. In tough off-road situations wheretyres are sometimes aired down, this groove allows the tread andside biter to better conform and work together when traversingirregular, tough obstacles.

ALTERNATING MUD SCOOP AND ASYMMETRICAL SCALLOPThe asymmetrical scallops on alternating lugs direct mud into themud scoops to allow the Discoverer STT Pro to pull through muddyterrains with ease. These “scoops” act as shovels to consistentlydig in as the tyre rotates. Scoop by scoop the Discoverer STT Prodigs in and will confidently pull your vehicle through the toughestsituations.

MUD-FLEX DESIGNThe mud-flex design is where the outside shoulder and intermediatetread ribs are strategically coupled together along their face. MODERN AGGRESSIVE 5-RIB ALL-TERRAIN DESIGNThe aggressive all-terrain design is engineered to provideoutstanding performance in both on-road and off-roaddriving applications. The A/T tread pattern exploits acombination of features specifically suited to provide solidall-terrain performance, superior all-season traction,excellent stability, confident handling and reliable treadwear.

SILICA-BASED TREAD COMPOUNDThe tread compound is formulated with a chemically-coupled silica and carbon black mixture that providesexcellent wet traction and handling on the highway, whilealso improving cut and chip resistance in more harsh rockyand gravel terrain. The silica-enriched tread compound haslower rolling resistance than traditional full carbon blacktread compounds.

DUAL DRAFT TREAD ELEMENT WALLSThe dual draft angles on the tread element walls aid inreducing stone retention, stone drilling and assist in cut andchip resistance.

LATERAL GROOVE PROTECTORSSerrated steps in the lateral grooves of the intermediatetread rib reduces the chance of stone retention and stonedrilling.

MICRO GAUGE ZIG-ZAG SIPINGThe smaller gauge sipes in the tread elements provideincreased vehicle stability and control, while reducing thepotential for stone retention and stone drilling. The zig-zagshape creates more biting edges which allow for better softsurface and wet traction.
