Chapter 10 ~ Lesson 1 The Fall of Jericho  Jericho was a well known city in Canaan, north of Jerusalem.  To conquer Jericho, the Israelites followed God’s instructions. They did not wage war, or use special machines.  God told Joshua to march around the city with his troops.  They carried the ark of the covenant with them and used rams horns as trumpets and marched around the city for 6 days.  On day 7 they marched around the city 7 times. The priests blew their trumpets, and the Israelites shouted loudly.  And the walls of Jericho came down, and the Israelites took over the city.

Chapter 10 ~ Lesson 1

God’s People Conquered Canaan.The Book of Deuteronomy is the 5th book of the Bible. It

explains that God’s people must be obedient to him when they enter the promised land.

The Israelites entered into the promised land. They were to live by the words Moses left them. “you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. This important prayer is known as the shema.

In the Book of Joshua, the 6th book of the Bible, God called Joshua to bring the people into their own land.

The Israelites sometimes had to struggle with the Canaanites.
