Background: K-MOOCs Beacon Project
• The K-MOOCs Beacon Project
demonstrated a clear rationale for MOOCs
at Kent.
• The key benefits identified for engagement
with MOOCs were identified as:
• enhanced profile and reputation
• Increased digital capacity
• positive impact on teaching & student
experience
• positive impact on postgrad &
research activities
• exploration of new markets and
income
• A key recommendation of the K-MOOCs
project was to partner with FutureLearn,
the UK’s leading MOOC provider.
