There are approximately 10 million distributors currently in the United States, who sell between $15 to $20 billion dollars in products and services annually. Yet, while more and more people are enjoying its benefits, most are still very unfamiliar with it. A Brief History of Network Marketing Who actually pioneered this business?

When did network marketing actually start? In 1945, Carl Rehnborg was known to be the first person to introduce a compensation plan to market his nutritional products. His company was originally called the California Vitamin Company, but later renamed as Nutrilite Products Inc. Using a multi-tired plan, it allowed any Nutrilite distributor to get a 3 percent commission from a downline on top of the regular commissions from his own sales. With this system, Nutrilite achieved stunning success compared to the old “direct-selling” method. In 1959, two good friends- Rich DeVos and Jay Van Andel - started a new company called Amway Corporation selling biodegradable all-purpose cleaner.

By using a network marketing compensation plan, the tiny enterprise achieved remarkable success with a sales force all over the United States. Dr. Forrest Shaklee did the same with nutritional products in 1959 with Shaklee products. Over the years, network marketing has evolved and diversified into a wide range of products and services as more companies have adopted this marketing method. Network Marketing is not an Employee/Employer Relationship As a network marketer, you do not work for the company; you work with the company. The business relationship is a tangible and dynamic partnership where the company provides: the products and packaging, research and development, capitalization, financial management, legal and regulatory compliance, data processing, administration, order taking, purchasing and production, quality control, product satisfaction guarantees, warehousing, shipping, creation and production of marketing materials, and so on.

So even though you are in business for yourself—you are not in business by yourself. Here are some examples: Just imagine you’re a salesperson in a large department store and each of your customers becomes a salesperson for the product you are selling, and that you are able to get a percentage of what they sell 2 wherever they go after leaving the store. In a traditional business organization, this would never happen. In network marketing, this is exactly what happens. Or again, if you are like most people, when you like something, you love to share it with others. How many times have you told people about a movie you really liked? Maybe you told 10 people about it, and those 10 people told 10 people each about it, and those 100 people told another 10 people about it.

That’s 1000 people that went to see that movie because of your referral. Wouldn’t it be nice if the movie theater paid you a percentage for each person you referred? Here again, in traditional business, this will never happen. Yet, this is exactly what takes place in network marketing. By referring people to the company, you will be entitled to receive commissions. In the above examples, those customers

leaving the store would be sponsored as distributors by you and would be placed in your organization. Likewise, all those people going to the movie would be sponsored by you, or by someone you sponsored, and be placed in your organization.

The power of network marketing is in the duplication process. The geometric progression can be really astounding. This incredible multiplying effect can build a group of hundreds or thousands of distributors, each one earning commissions from not only their efforts, but also from the efforts of others. No matter when you join a network marketing organization, you are always the head of your own company. Unlike conventional corporations with one Chief Executive at the top, in network marketing, each person is the Chief Executive of his or her own independent organization. Is This a Pyramid?

One of the most misunderstood concepts of network marketing involves the term “pyramid”. Pyramids, by their very nature represent strength as evidenced by our government, traditional business models, and the family structure- all form a pyramid shape. When the question arises (“Is this a pyramid scheme?”) the underlying question really is –whether or not the company is operating legally. Unfortunately there are bad apples in every bunch, and there have been abuses of network marketing, just as there have been with franchising, real estate, the stock market, and every other form of business. With the proper application, however, network marketing provides an opportunity to become financially independent by showing and helping others to do the same.

How does network marketing differ from a pyramid scheme? According to Professor Charles King, marketing professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago, and co-author of The New Professionals: The Rise of Network Marketing as the Next Major Profession: “Pyramid schemes make virtually all their profit from the fees new recruits pay to sign up and not from commissions on the sale of products or delivery of services. Because they are illegal, pyramid schemes usually seek a legitimate ‘cover’ by offering a ‘line of products’—but usually the products are not worth the value of what you pay for them. A legitimate network marketing company, on the other hand, pays the distributor a commission based on the sale of legitimate, value-based products—not for recruiting anyone.

The sign up fee is low, typically in the $40- $100 range. While most companies encourage distributors to buy a small amount of product to become familiar with what they are selling, a money back guarantee is generally offered for all unused product if the distributor decides to drop out of the business.” Illegal pyramid schemes try to disguise themselves as network marketing companies because they want to appear legal. Unfortunately, when the press reports on illegal pyramid schemes, we all suffer guilt by association and that does have an effect on our ability to retain good people and acquire new ones. Legal attacks by state and federal authorities on high profile network marketing companies do occur from time 3 to time. Most of those large companies, not only survive the attack, but also come to be considered models of legality whose policies and enforcement systems are emulated by younger

companies (Len Clemen “The Coming Network Marketing Boom”—Networking Times, June 2002). The Direct Selling Association, DSA (www.dsa.org) is an active professional lobbying group, based in Washington, D.C. that is a major force on overseeing that the integrity of the network marketing industry is preserved. The DSA is currently working on legislation that will create federal legislation for network marketing.(Note: In 1963, Congress enacted laws regulating franchising. The post regulatory era of franchising created an industry that now moves over one-third of all the goods and services in this country. Federal regulation was the catalyst to the biggest boom in entrepreneurial history (Len Clement “The Coming Network Marketing Boom”—Networking Times, June 2002). While network marketing has seen it’s share of unethical people and practices, it’s still the most brilliant marketing system ever devised. When an honest company, with a great product or service recruits an organization, everyone wins…especially the end user. Average and Ordinary” People can Participate; Low Start-Up Cost; Tax Benefits The network marketing opportunity is available to anyone, regardless of education, background, or level of finances. Traditional business investments can range from $100k-$1million or more! The company fulfills the order, credits the distributor for the sale, and generates a computerized commission check and detailed report at the end of the month. What makes network-marketing work is the division of labor between distributor and parent company. A good company takes care of everything except sponsoring. Network Marketing has evolved so that the distributor functions mainly as a human contact through which the company’s communications or information stream is channeled. Someone who doesn’t have strong communication skills, strong selling skills, or strong management skills can still prosper. The idea is “you do what you do best, and the company will do the 4 rest”. Voice mail, fax machines, electronic mail, Internet, videotapes, satellite links, and conference calls have made communication rather simple and effective, which allows each distributor to focus on learning and growing the business. Ironically, some of the same technologies that have allowed traditional business to cut millions of jobs are also allowing an innovative marketing method to offer hope and opportunity

to people from all walks of life. Network Marketing uses this technology to support people, rather than replace them. As computers take over more and more of the work that people used to do, they free us up to focus on those things that people do best—to dream, plan, strategize, solve problems and interact with other people. Leverage Linear Income vs. Geometric Growth Most people are trapped in a system of wage slavery. They trade their labor for a fixed wage or hourly rate tied directly to the amount of time they spend on the job. This is called “linear income”. Network Marketing, on the other hand, can be defined as a method of marketing that allows independent sales representatives to sponsor other sales representatives and draw commissions from the sales of those who are sponsored. This is called geometric or “leveraged income”.

Author W. Clement Stone once wrote that the best sort of money to use in a business endeavor is –Other People’s Money (OPM). Network Marketing goes two steps beyond that—(1) OPT (Other People’s time, talent, and technique), and (2) OPE (Other People’s energy, education, and enthusiasm). In short, “People Power”—other people are the greatest resource in network marketing. In many other professions, you’re paid only for your own efforts. However, in network marketing, you get to utilize the age-old advice of J. Paul Getty: It is better to make one percent of 100 people’s effort, than 100% of your own efforts. Building a network marketing organization allows one to do just that. It is as if, instead of being a one or two income household, you’re a 500 or 5000 income household—and that’s just incredible. Not only will the total result almost always be a lot more with leverage, but your income is not dependent on only one person. If your income is produced by the activities of many, and something negative or unexpected happens to one or more of those people, it only has a minor effect on the total production.

That translates to real job security. Leverage Your Time—Enjoy Time Freedom and Potential for Unlimited Income Nothing in life equals the joy of spending quality time doing the things we most enjoy with the people we most love. The major problem with the “rat race” and the 40-year plan (average working years from age 25-65) is the lack of time allotted to us for ourselves, time with our families, time for church and civic responsibilities, as well as time to be a good human being. The 40-year plan is the best that most folks can hope for in traditional business.

By the age of 25, most people have an idea of what profession they will enter. But 40 years later, out of a typical 100 people, 5 are still working, 36 are dead, 54 are dead broke (or at least earning less than they were when they were employed), 4 are well off, and 1 person is wealthy. Thus the 40-year plan means that for four decades, most of us go back and forth from home to work, back and forth…and yet at the end of this time, only 5 out of 100 persons can retire in dignity. The baby boomers (those born between 1945-1964—about 70 million strong) and their children are beginning to discover that the road to riches promised by their parents has ended without warning on the brink of disaster. Too many boomers are facing old age without adequate retirement benefits. 5 Everyday, more stories circulate and speculate about when social security will “run out of gas”. Without doubt, what worked for their parents will not work for boomers or their children. Now many boomers will be forced to work into their seventies. Unless their children chart a different course, they may be destined to follow the well-worn

and rutted road of despair. The rat race allows time only for being a good worker. Life has to be more than that. Network Marketing provides the key. The concept of leverage is one of the most exciting aspects of this business. It allows you to generate income not only from your own efforts, but also through the efforts of others in your organization.

Even if you can only work a few hours a week, you could receive a second paycheck without quitting your job. If you don’t have a lot of time, you can still find people who do and still capitalize on the opportunity. If one works diligently in network marketing for 3-5 years, building an income based on honest movement of products or services, the dream of financial freedom can become a reality. Network Marketing is the ultimate in freedom—the freest of free enterprise. There is literally no ceiling, no limits on earnings. A lawyer can only bill so many hours in a day, and a doctor can only perform so many surgeries in a day. Some great people working in traditional business haven’t had a raise in years. In network marketing, you have the option of creating a raise for you and your family everyday if you so choose. People Helping People In the competitive workplace, when you work for someone else, and you do a great job, you can become a threat to others around you. Or if you gain knowledge about that specific business and teach that to someone else (duplicate yourself), many times that person may “take your job” or leave your company and start one of their own— in either case, what you have essentially done is “trained your competition”. In network marketing, when you duplicate yourself, and those who are working with you make money… you make money. When they win…you win. Zig Ziglar says, “I believe that you can get anything in life you want, if you will just help enough other people get what they want”.

Network Marketing is a fun business. It’s the only business in the world where by going out and helping others get what they want, and changing the lives of others for the better, you can get what you want in the process. The saying goes it’s lonely at top, but that’s only true when you have to step on other people to get there. Yet that just isn’t the way to do it—the best way to succeed comes from helping others, and network marketing allows you do just that. Personal Development Advantage One of the major advantages of network marketing is the personal growth training that you get from the positive, self-help books, as well as ongoing company trainings. Some of the more important real-life personal development subjects include: an attitude of success; leadership skills; communication skills; people skills; overcoming personal fears, doubts, and lack of confidence; overcoming fear of rejection; money management skills; accountability skills; time management skills; and goal setting. Only 3% of Americans have written goals, and the art of getting along with others was never taught to us in our school curriculum. This is unfortunate, as success principles should be “taught”, rather than 6 “caught”. Because network marketing is based heavily on building relationships, the “personal coaching” that one receives is worth it, even if a person decides not to pursue network marketing as a business. Americans are Cocooning; Network Marketing Enters the Cocoon How far we have come from the golden age of Madison Avenue! A generation ago, advertisers ruled the roost. Captive audiences sat helpless before a barrage of televised images. Ad agencies funneled their messages, at will, straight into the consumer’s

mind. But now the roles have reversed. It is the consumer who controls the information flow, while the advertiser resorts to ever more desperate means to seize his/her attention. The average person today is exposed to 145 commercial messages daily—a 36 percent increase since 1960. But the chances of any one advertiser making an impact have plummeted. Armed with remote controls, today’s consumer now flips from one cable station to the next, bypassing all commercial stations. As the number of media outlets proliferates—from cable TV to the Internet— advertising messages are lost in the ever-widening data streams. Channel surfing is only one of many ways that people today protect themselves from commercials. To the alarm of advertisers, more and more people are adopting a fortress mentality toward psychological intrusions of any kind. Consumers pay premium subscription fees for non-commercial cable stations. They withhold warranty applications, lest they wind up on mailing lists. They fast forward through the promotions on rented videos. They delete commercial e-mail messages without reading them. They screen out unwanted calls with their answering machines. Nearly one out of every seven American households today have an unlisted phone number. It’s all part of the cocooning trend, foretold by marketing consultant Faith Popcorn (The Popcorn Report) more than a decade ago. “Americans are retreating into cocoons”, says Popcorn, because they are overwhelmed by the frantic pace and social chaos of the information age. They are seeking a quiet, private retreat, where they do not have to see, hear, feel, or do anything except by their own choice. Cocooning is about insulation and avoidance, pace and protection, coziness and control—a sort of hyper-nesting. (Popcorn Report, p. 37) If there is one urgent business lesson marketers need to learn, it is finding ways to reach the cocooned consumer.

No marketing method does this better than network marketing. Even the most elusive cocooner will still lend an ear to people they know and trust—a friend, relative, associate, or co-worker who recommends a particular diet supplement, investment plan, or Internet service provider. Word-ofmouth marketing penetrates the thickest psychological defenses. Network Marketers are going right into the cocoon—they know how to invade the cocoon, without being thought of as invaders. The twenty-first century will see profound changes in shopping habits. Instead of going to the store, the store will come to us. In the future, we will be looking at network marketing the way we look at regular marketing today. (Popcorn Report, pps. 39-41) Residual Income Residual income is recurring income that continues long after the work you have done to produce it has ended. There are lots of ways to produce residual income. But many people don’t understand it. Others have never thought about it or been exposed to it—and unfortunately, many ways of producing it are out of the reach of average people. Successful authors, actors, musicians, and insurance agents are some of the more familiar occupations that produce residual income. There were thousands of them with thousands of votes, and they lobbied for their right to do things the same old way. They finally got the local and state governments to outlaw Grant's department stores. Eventually, Grant's department store won out. If there is a better way it will persist. In the early 1960's franchising was a revolutionary new technology in business, and it was also met with resistance. Newspapers and magazines wrote what a scam and rip-off franchising was. Stories of people who lost their life savings to some franchise were everywhere.

There was a strong move to make franchising illegal. In fact, franchising actually came within 11 votes of being outlawed by Congress. Today this so-called scam is responsible for over 34 percent of all retail sales in North America. Franchises sell nearly 800 billion dollars worth of goods and services today. Every industry goes through an evolution similar to this. Chiropractors were considered quacks in the 1970's, the stock market was considered shady and a form of gambling, and the first newspaper in British North America, The Public Occurrence (1690), was suppressed by the governor of Massachusetts. Now, we almost can't do without these industries. The Pioneers Like all-powerful concepts, Network Marketing has also met resistance due to a lack of understanding. There is no mystery to Network Marketing. It's just another form of sales and distribution. Network Marketing is 50 years young. In the early 1940's a company by the name of California Vitamins recognized that all their new sales representatives coming aboard were friends and family of their existing sales force, primarily because they wanted the product at wholesale cost. They also discovered that it was easier to create a sales force of a lot of people who each sold a small amount of product than it was to find a few superstars who could sell a lot of products. So they combined those two ideas and designed a sales compensation structure that encouraged their salespeople to invite new representatives from satisfied customers, most of whom were family and friends, who each had the same right to offer the product and representative status to others, which allowed the sales force to grow exponentially. The company rewarded them for the sales produced by their entire group or network of sales representatives.

Network Marketing was born! A few years later, the company changed its name to NutraLite Food Supplement Corporations. In 1956, NutraLite was joined in Network Marketing by Dr. Forrest Shaklee to gain a broader distribution of the food supplements he had developed. Not long after, in 1959, former NutraLite distributors Rich DeVoss and Jay Van Andel started the Amway company as the American Way of marketing products. Like many truly innovative breakthroughs, the development of true network marketing was an accident. 10 Abuses of exponential growth haunted network marketing for years and it is still misunderstood today.

One of the first abuses of the concept of exponential growth to generate income may have been the chain letter craze that swept the U.S. after World War I. The letters promised great profit if you would send a dime or a dollar to the person at the bottom. The chain letters spread as far as Europe, and by the 1930's the U.S. post office estimated that 10 million letters were being mailed each day. Postal Authorities and law enforcement agencies battled the fraudulent schemes and the chain letter phenomenon began to subside in the early 1940s. Unfortunately, this scam spawned schemes which came to be known as pyramids, where money was given for the right to involve others, as no valid product which was being purchased from the company. In 1974, Senator Walter Mondale declared such companies to be the nation's number one consumer fraud. Law enforcement agencies moved quickly to clean up the abuses. In the mid 1970's, with no clear understanding of what constituted a legitimate use of network marketing, the Federal Trade Commission and state agencies across the nation turned their eyes to almost all network marketing companies. In 1975, the FTC filed suit against Amway, alleging that the company was an illegal pyramid and that its refusal to sell its products in retail stores constituted a restraint of trade. Amway spent four years and millions of dollars in legal fees to clear its name. In 1979 the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) ruled that Amway was not a pyramid, that its revenue was generated from the sale of its products, and the FTC acknowledged network marketing as a legal and efficient distribution system.

Network Marketing exploded in the next decade. Who's Involved in Network Marketing? Today there are thousands of Network Marketing companies operating throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, South America, the United Kingdom, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Israel, Japan and the Pacific Basin. Little Malaysia alone has more than 800 active Network Marketing companies. Network Marketing is reported to be a $100 billion dollar industry, internationally, made up of FORTUNE 500 and New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) companies. In 1993, Amway was the fastest growing foreign company in Japan with sales over $1 billion. Discovery Toys markets their products solely by Network Marketing, with sales figures in excess of $100 million. Sprint, MCI and AT&T make their long distance phone service available through Network Marketing companies. The A.L. Williams Company utilized Network Marketing and astounded the insurance industry by outselling Prudential, a giant in the industry, in four short years. Traditional sales method companies such as Colgate-Palmolive and the Gillette Company have Network Marketing subsidiaries. Rexall Drug is now utilizing the Network Marketing method of distribution with its subsidiary, Rexall Showcase. Network Marketing companies such as Melaleuca outperformed Liz Claiborne, The Limited and John Paul Mitchell while Nu Skin bested the likes of Maybelline, Dow Chemical and Matrix. Mary Kay is bigger than Johnson & Johnson, Amway is bigger than Revlon, and Avon is bigger than Estee Lauder. Sam Walton, the founder of Wal-Mart is quoted as

saying, "I'd rather 11 run a profitable business in an unconventional industry than an unprofitable business in a conventional industry." Network Marketing has evolved in other ways, as well. Companies that began as direct selling companies are now utilizing networking marketing compensation plans. Some examples include Avon, the $3 billion cosmetic giant, Watkins Products, which had been direct selling for nearly 100 years before it converted to network marketing, and Encyclopedia Britannica. One reason for the decline of direct selling is that beginning in the 1970's, distributors making calls on people found that no one was home. Women, long standing as the customer backbone of direct sales, had entered the work force, leaving few at home during the day. suppose the media would take to protect their advertising dollar? A few years ago a network marketing company that sold personal care products became the attention of the media and several state Attorney Generals. Their sales were approaching $500 million dollars.

These sales were being taken away from companies such as Revlon, Max Factor, Estee Lauder and others in the health and beauty aids industry. Do you believe the competition was pleased with the success of a network marketing company that was not spending multi-millions of dollars on advertising as they had traditionally done? Furthermore, network marketing companies were bypassing the department stores and malls and going direct to the consumer's living rooms with sharing, caring service and time saving convenience. What if you were one of the brokers, retailers, wholesalers, media people or any other person whose job or businesses were being threatened because network marketing was a new and better way of doing things? Ministries have had abuses for self serving purposes. The stock market has had its insider trading scandals. Why should network marketing be any different? Look at the company, the product, its management and their past history. Understand the commitment that is necessary to achieve success and residual income. This advice is just as valid in network marketing as in anything else. There are many myths about the industry of network marketing and the companies involved. It is true that many recognized traditional companies have started subsidiaries, such as Gillette, Colgate-Palmolive, Rexall and thousands of other companies that are using network marketing as their preferred method of distribution, creating sales of approximately $100 billion dollars. It's interesting how resistant we are to change. We want to stay in our comfort zones even when we're miserable. It's been said network marketing is the next step in the evolution of free enterprise. 14 THE LAUNCH It’s time to get your hands dirty, to get things moving on your own Grand Opening. This is where your new business will get off the ground and begin to rise. Follow this system as close as possible and watch your business continue to grow every week! First 14 days with in the first 14 days you need to complete 2-4 launches. Hold these meetings within 2-3 days of each other. These Launch meetings can be a mixture of (2) launch types: Launch Meetings, or Launch Calls. 1. Launch Meeting: (Local) A Launch Meeting is the opportunity for you to invite people who you would like to be a part of your business to preview the opportunity, products and company. Remember you are the messenger not the message. Use your upline and a standardized presentation (tip: don’t present to your own people, it’s always more powerful coming from someone else). 2. Launch Call: (long distance) This is for people who are not close enough or not able to attend your Launch Meeting. First set up specific time with your upline for a Launch Call or web meeting. Next invite your prospects so they can hear the details about the product and company from your upline. DATE TIME LOCATION In between your Launches, take the time to share RAIN with people individually pas well. You can do this by: 3. *The Three Step System:

In this scenario we are going to them, we can also give our full attention to the person or couple we are meeting with. Although it is a lot more time consuming it is very effective. We do drop by’s with people we have a good or close relationship with, not with someone we haven’t seen or talked to in years. There are other ways to prospect in those situations. *Remember to keep it simple and to not say too much!!

16 THE LAUNCH Your online Launch can happen anytime and can help you gain prospect who are not in your area. Use your social media site and e-mails as a way to get your prospects interested. Remember to keep control of the message. Don’t give blind info and hope that someone will take the time. Always speak with your prospect before and after you send them a link to a video or send them any information. TIPS: 1. Keep your Launch Meetings to a 45 minute maximum and remove all distractions so you and your prospects can focus on the presentation. 2. It is easier to build fast than slow in this business, speed and momentum help fuel your growth, so take your Launches seriously. 3. Always use the most up to date standardized materials and tools. 4. Make good use of your upline and corporate tools. Both are there for your use and should be relied upon heavily. 5. Have fun, but be professional. Make sure to have applications and other materials on hand. 6. Refer back to The Foundation often and review your prospects and goals. 7. Be prompt, begin on time and always dress the part. 8. Keep furniture normal for a Launch Meeting. Move things around or add chairs only as needed when people arrive. 9. Review your dreams; make sure you are in the right mind-set. Smile big and always be positive – people can feel your energy 1000 miles away. Make sure the call isn’t longer than 5 minutes. Invite both spouses, or all decision makers to learn more. If you want to make sure someone comes to a local meeting, meet them beforehand or go and pick them up. Don’t call to reconfirm the appointment this will invite cancellations. Things to say when asked what it is. You can always start by saying in a nice way “like I mentioned” and then repeat what you initially stated to create curiosity. of People: Anyone that you speak with will be in one of these three categories. 1. Customer. This is someone who wants to test out the product. 2. Small business builder. This is someone who wants to do it part time and wants to make a little extra money. 3. Big business builder. This is someone who wants to spend the time to replace and increase their income. Tie it Down: Know where your clients are. One of the biggest mistakes people make with their prospects is not finding out their interest level. You can do this by asking what type they are (see above), or ask them on a scale of 1-10 (10 being most interested). After they have been presented the information, ask if everything makes sense and if they have any questions. If they don’t, let them know the next step is to get the application filled out, their auto ship set up and their RAIN Freedom Challenge in place. If someone places a concern, ask “Besides that, is there anything else holding you back?”. Continue to ask that question until all concerns are out. Once all concerns are out, ask “ Let’s suppose that...(all conditions are met), would you join?”. If they say yes, take the time NOW to meet those conditions. 24, . THE RESULT - FOLLOW UP TYPE 1 The first type takes place after a prospect receives some type of information about the product or business. You need to give yourself a reason to follow up (i.e. follow up with your conditional items stated above, or to get back some collateral material you have asked them to review and get back). Never leave one exposure without setting up time for another. You have 48 hours. Key Point: Make sure your prospective business partner or customer always has “homework” or something to do before your next meeting with them. For example, if your prospect attends a live meeting, you may want to send them home with samples and literature, or ask them to spend time researching the company website in preparation for the next meeting. Or, if their ‘first contact’ was through a three-way call, invite them to take the next step and meet with your sponsor. TYPE 2 The second type of follow-up involves keeping in touch with prospects on a regular basis. With those who’s timing is off or do not show interest at the moment, always keep the door open by asking them “if this thing continues to take off like it’s predicted to, is it alright it I tap you on the shoulder in the future to let you know how its going?” Put people on your “Drip List”. Your “Drip List” is a list of people who’s timing is off at the moment. These are people who you are going to “Drip” new information on anytime there is a new product, country opening or anything exciting to share. Plan on speaking (re-inviting) with your prospects every 60-90 days so you can bring them up-to-speed with the progress of your business, and reinforce your personal success to them. You main job is to edify and to learn from your upline during these presentations. Phase 3 - You have the tools and have learned form your upline, now it is your turn to do the presentations for your downline. Remember, these are your peoples people. What is a 3 way call?A 3 way call (or conference call) is when a consultant brings their guest on the line with you (the sponsor) to hear more about your story and the company story.

Why are 3 way calls important? These calls provide third-party validation, and social-proof (allows guests to see what’s possible by hearing other success stories). For new distributors, the calls are invaluable as it allows them to get off to a fast start (simply learning the art of inviting–inviting to a presentation or call) and following up with a 3 way call (where their sponsor can help them answer questions, objections, and close). This allows new distributors to leverage the experience of the sponsor and lets the new consultant get off a fast start while they’re still learning/perfecting the story; this helps them develop their language, skill, and knowledge base. It allows the new consultant to learn how to answer questions and handle objections. Not to mention, these calls foster quick duplication in your organization.

When to use 3 way calls? I recommend that you invite a prospect to a 3 way call with your sponsor or an up line leader after they’ve expressed some interest (they’ve listened in to an opportunity call, attended an event, or reviewed material and are open to learning more.)

How to do a 3 way call scheduling the 3 way call

When a prospect expresses interest after hearing more from you, or from a call, meeting or event, scheduling a 3-way call with your sponsor or up line afterward is very powerful. If you are new, simply say: “I want to share more, but I’m new and just getting started. Can I introduce you to my business partner to share more with you? This way, you’ll get all of your questions answered, and this will help me to learn more as well!” (Edify your sponsor and share their success story to provide further validation of the opportunity, and what’s possible).

If you’re not new you can say “I have access to a top leader his name and rank, he knows all the facts and likes to have fun and he love to help people to make money I’d love to introduce them to you. You’d enjoy hearing her/his story and I think you guys would get along well. Can I make a quick introduction?”

When they agree, schedule the time with your sponsor, or up line. Three way calling! Three way calling! You gotta do three way calling in MLM!

You may be wondering what all the talk is about concerning three way calling in MLM and Network marketing.. Good point! You need to have an understanding of what it is, and basics of doing it. It is an effective way to do this business and very cost effective as well

Understand….once you have contacted your friends and family, you need to do what is called a “three way call” with them, with your MLM sponsor on the line.

This will do three things: 1) Build credibility. 2) Validate you and the product. 3) Help train you as you listen to your sponsor talk to your Network Marketing prospect.

How do you do a three way call?

It is as simple as 1-2-3. You call your sponsor, and give them a short background on the prospect, (name, age, occupation etc.) and then press the “flash” button on your phone, or the receiver button, and then dial the number of your friend, and then when it starts ringing, press the “flash” button again, and you will have both parties on the line.

A three way call is broken down into three parts:

1) “Introduction”

This is where you introduce your sponsor to your prospect:

Do not let them carry on a conversation with you first, and then tell them someone is on the line…it is embarrassing to everyone!

“Have I caught you at a good time? Great! I have a friend/ associate/expert/partner/ -Mary- on the line who is an expert with this product and company, and I was telling her about you, and she wanted to meet you…Mary, are you there?” Stay quiet and listen to your sponsor.

2) “The Expert” - your sponsor or up line who is calling with you.

During the call, your sponsor will reaffirm what you have told them. And also validate you. There are many different ways to do three ways, but always ask questions about the prospect, and show you are INTERESTED IN THEM! Your sponsor will also help get your prospect to the next event, and also say something about you as a serious player in this business-(and if you are doing three ways –you ARE!)

3) “The Summary” or Next Move. This will be to summarize what has been agreed to by the prospect, and also to thank them for their time and how forward you are looking to see them. Practice with your sponsor over and over, and get three ways down. Network Marketing is driven by three ways, and it is the most powerful tool there is for third party validation, and recruiting. Get your new distributor and make sure they practice, drill, rehearse three ways

If someone just bluntly asks you for a solution, you might be able to suggest another meeting or to view some materials at another time.

committed to making people’s lives better and I’ll show you a wealthy and happy person who has an abundance of time on their hands. It’s a difference in the intention. What I recommend that you do is that you get on the phone and you find out about that person.

You: “Hello, ___________, you’ve indicated an interest in a home-based business and I just wanted to know if you have found the business you are looking for.” If they say “No” you then ask them: You: What is it the business would have to have for you to be interested in it? Then, write down everything they say, because that person will tell you exactly how and what they will buy, or what it will take for them to sign up. Then say:

You: “Okay, _____________, I’m committed to your success and how I want to start things off is I want to get you an explanation of how we take our products into the market place. And after you’ve watched this, then you and I can have a more intelligent conversation about the specific products.”

5. TAKING A PROSPECT TO LUNCH

You: “John, an interesting business has come across my desk. How long is your lunch break?” (If over an hour then continue the invite for the luncheon. If less than an hour, move to some other method i.e., video, hotel...)

You: “What are you doing for lunch tomorrow? A couple of business colleagues are getting together to talk about business. Come to lunch with me- here take down this address. (Give address). Dress business and professional l and the cost are normally about $15.00 a plate. I think you’ll enjoy it.”*

You: “Hi, I’m (your name). If I could show you a way that you could earn extra income in a part-time business of your own, would you be interested in getting a little more information so you could make an educated decision?” If they are interested, exchange business cards and have them call a 24 hour recorded message to listen to a brief description of the opportunity.

6. HAVING A CONVERSATION WITH SOMEONE YOU DO NOT KNOW

Most people blow getting referrals because they say way too much. The best way to get referrals is to not go into any details about it. Just use something simple like: “I’m working on a project in the fitness industry. Who do you know who’s into fitness? . .into health?

“Who do you know who hates their love handles?”. . . Is into eating right? . . . Into working out? “Who do you know that is into computers?” Not necessarily their profession, although it could be, but also people who play with computers as a hobby?

“Who is your computer consultant?”

“I’m looking for someone who deals with the Internet, who do you, know?” “I need your help. You know a lot of people. I’m currently working on a large project and need to find one or two people to help me. Can I give you a 30 second overview about this project and the profile of the person I’m looking for to see if you can help me locate the right people?”

“John, I need your help. Who’s talked to you that are looking for an alternative income?

Stream?” Who comes to mind that’s looking for a career move?” “Who’s tired of being in traffic?” “Whom do you know who hates their boss?” “Who do you know that likes to work real hard, get the job done so they can go play?“How about someone really motivated by money and willing to do whatever it takes to succeed?”

“Quick question: Have you ever thought of doing anything else?” This last question is very important.

11. HOW TO INVITE REFFERAL PROSPECTS

Introduce yourself and then say: “Is Sandy in please? Hello Sandy, this is (your name). I don't believe you and I have ever met, but (referral name) said I should talk to you. (Referral name) said you have an interest in the (_____) industry. Is that correct? What kind of experience do you have? (Listen to them). Much of my business focus is in the area of ____, if I could show you a business model that wouldn't’ jeopardize your current situation, would you be open to hearing about it?”

If the answer is no, (I doubt it, this script is effective) ask: "Who do you know that is looking?"

If the answer is yes, then say: "I would like to email or text you a link that explains the broad view. There’s one catch to all this, If I send it, do I have your word that you will look at it right away? Good, what's your email address?" If they say yes - But what is it? Rather than take up your time on the phone, I would like to send you all the details on video. Then if you have questions, we can talk.”

Another approach

“Hello, ____, this is _____. (Referral person) recommend I call you. (Referral person) said you’re a good person to talk to about the ______ (fitness industry). I have something you might have an interest in. Let me ask you a question, if I could show you a way to profit from your knowledge in the fitness industry, that wouldn’t interfere with your current situation would you say the timing is good or bad for you? The Rain International Compensation Plan

Rain International has designed its compensation plan to accomplish one very simple objective: reward you for connecting customers with Rain International’s incredible line of nutritional products. In order to maximize your potential income opportunity under the Rain International Compensation Plan, remember that all commissions and bonuses are derived from end users enjoying and benefiting from the health benefits of the company’s products. Compensation under the plan is not paid for recruiting activities. Rather, your income depends on a combination of your ability to build a marketing organization, the number of personal customers you have and the amount that your customers and the customers of those in your marketing organization purchase.

The most successful Rain International Partners take the time to do two things:

1. Learn as much about the company’s products as possible; and

2. Develop critical business building skills by following the company’s success systems.

The reason that these two activities are so critical is that you will need to teach and train those members of your marketing organization to do the same. One thing is certain: the combination of exercising diligence, practicing discipline and demonstrating a willingness to work hard can turn into significant residual income for years to come.

Active

Any Rain Partner (RP) who purchases a minimum of fifty (50) Personal Volume points every Personal Month.

Additional Business Centers

1. Company allows RPs to earn commissions on more than one Business Center (BC). To earn additional Business Centers, an RP must purchase a three BC business builder kit, or eligible upgrade kit.

2. Sponsorship of RPs under the additional Business Center(s) is on the RP level, not the BC level. The additional BCs (BC #2 and BC #3) are not sponsored by the RP. They are viewed as one position. BC #2 and BC #3 are eligible to earn Team Commissions only.

3. The additional BCs (BC #2 and BC #3) do not need to meet separate commission and rank qualifications. If the RP is Commission Qualified, BC #2 and BC #3 meet the Commission Qualified qualification.

Autoship

Company program under which a standing order is automatically charged to your payment method on file with the company and shipped to your account’s shipping address. This program enables efficient product ordering and delivery every month and ensures meeting qualification requirements for certain bonuses and commissions as defined by the Compensation Plan.

Binary Earnings Cap

Team Commissions shall be maximized at $10,000, per Business Center per Bonus Period.

Binary Genealogy

For purposes of Team Commissions, each RP has a maximum of two front line Partners. The resulting marketing organization under each of these front line Partners is referred to as the Binary Genealogy. There is a Left Team and a Right Team.

Bonus Period Company defined start and end date for each period that a particular bonus will be paid to RP. The following summarizes the Bonus Periods for each bonus or commission: 1

Lifestyle Bonus Monthly

1 Rain International reserves the right to amend or modify the Bonus Period for any or all Bonuses or Commissions at its sole discretion as allowed and set forth in the company’s Policies and Procedures as amended from time to time.

Carry Over Volume (COV)

Because Team Commissions are paid out in multiples of three hundred (300) CV, any commissionable volume (CV) that was not commissioned the current period will be carried over to the next period if the RP during that period is in Active status.

Example:

RP is Active and qualifies for the Team Commission. She has 500 CV in her Strong Leg and 200 CV in her weak leg. Since RP needs a minimum of 300 CV in her Weak Leg and 300 CV in her Strong Leg to be paid a Team Commission, RP will not receive a Team Commission for the current period. However, her 500 Strong Leg CV and 200 Weak Leg CV will be carried over to the next commission period or until both legs have at least 300 CV.

Commissionable Volume (CV)

Each company product purchase is assigned a point value by the Company. CV is the basis for determining and calculating bonuses and commissions. The Rain International Compensation Plan pays 50% of all Commissionable Volume.2

Commission Qualified

Any Active RP who has at least one Active personally enrolled RP in each leg of his or her Binary Genealogy: one personally enrolled on the Left Team and one on the Right Team.

Compensation Plan

Rain’s standard compensation plan available generally to all RPs as described in this document.

Cycle

A “Cycle” is defined as each segment of 300 points in Commissionable Volume. Team Commissions will be paid on a maximum number of 334 Weak Leg Cycles or $10,000 per Bonus Period. Any Commissionable Volume in excess of 334 Cycles will be carried over to the next Bonus Period.

Enrollment Leg

An Enrollment Leg is a portion of an RP’s organization (Sponsor Tree) starting at each of his or her first-level RPs and encompassing his or her entire organization. If an RP has 10 personally enrolled Partners, he or she has 10 Enrollment Legs.

Enrollment Order / First Order Kit

An order made at the time of enrollment as a Partner at the predetermined inventory pricing level. This is used to determine the First Order Bonus earned by the sponsoring RP.

Genealogy

This is the Company’s overall structure that indicates how and where RPs is placed. Some bonuses and commissions are paid according to either the RP’s Binary Genealogy or Sponsor Tree Genealogy.

Generation

A Generation is an RP achieving the Paid as Rank of Bronze Executive or higher in each of his Enroller Legs. The “first” Generation is every RP between you and the Bronze Executive or higher rank closest to you in each Enroller Leg, “second” Generation is every RP between the first Generation Bronze Executive and the second Generation Bronze Executive and so on. The number of Generations is determined by beginning at the top of each Enroller Leg and continuing down until each RP with the rank of Bronze Executive or higher is found.

Group Volume (GV)

The total amount of CV attributable to the RP’s Sponsor Tree Genealogy.

Leadership Bonus Pool

The Leadership Bonus Pool is equal to three percent (3%) of total company weekly Commissionable Volume. The Leadership Bonus Pool is used as the basis for payment of the Leadership Bonus to RPs achieving the rank of Bronze Director or above.

Lifetime Rank

A Lifetime Rank is an RP’s highest rank achieved whether or not such rank is maintained for Compensation Plan purposes. An RP may achieve a rank but not be “paid as” that Rank due to fluctuations in his or her business or other circumstances.

Paid As

The term “paid as” is used in connection with commissions, bonuses and qualifications in the Compensation Plan. A “paid as” rank is that Rank for which you are paid under the Compensation Plan for a particular Bonus Period. Conversely, a Lifetime Rank is an RP’s highest rank achieved whether or not such rank is maintained for Compensation Plan purposes. An RP may have previously achieved a particular Rank in the Compensation Plan but due to fluctuations in his or her business and not reaching all the requirements for that bonus period, may cease permanently or temporarily to be paid according to that Rank.

Personal Enrollee

A Personal Enrollee is a new RP that is personally enrolled as a new distributor. A Personal Enrollee is placed on the enrolling RP’s first level of the Sponsor Tree Genealogy regardless of his or her placement in the Binary Genealogy.

Personal Volume (PV)

Personal Volume (PV) is calculated by the amount of total sales volume generated through personal orders that you purchase for either you (for yourself) or for your Retail Preferred Customers.

Personal Qualification Volume (PVQ)

PVQ is the amount of CV earned by an RP that goes towards Rain Compensation Plan Qualifications from an RP’s personal purchases. Certain bonuses or commissions require a certain amount of PVQ every Personal Month (PM) for qualification. For example, to earn FOBM an RP needs to have 100 PVQ.

Personal Month

A Personal Month relates to each RP Individually and not to the company as a whole. When an RP starts their Rain Business and purchases a starter kit, their Personal Month begins. (In the Rain Compensation Plan whenever it refers to a Monthly Qualification Period we are referring to the RP’s Personal Month not a calendar month.) Example:

Jon decides he wants to Join with Rain International and become a Rain Partner. He completes all of the requirements and purchases his starter kit on September 26th. This is when Jon’s Personal Month begins and the Monthly Qualification Period ends on October 26th. When one period ends a new Qualification Period will begin. Jon’s Personal Month will be from each 26th to the 26th.

Qualification Period

The Qualification Period is that time period in which the RP needs to meet the qualifications in order to earn commissions or bonuses for a respective commission or bonus period.

Weekly Qualification Period: The Weekly Qualification Period starts each week Monday morning at 00:00 Mountain Time and ends on Sunday night at 23:59 Mountain Time.

Monthly Qualification Period: The Monthly Qualification Period refers to the Personal Month and can be different for each Partner.

Rain Partner (RP)

A Rain Partner is a person who chooses to be in full partnership as a distributor with Rain International and distribute the company’s products. This is a person who has properly filled out and submitted a distributor agreement, purchased a starter kit, and meets all other required criteria enabling him or her to participate fully in the Rain Compensation Plan.

Referring Customer (RC)

A Referring Customer is a Personal Enrollee associated with either a Rain Partner (RP) or another Referring Customer (RC). A Referring Customer is:

1. Someone who is purchasing product from the company for personal use, but has not yet engaged as a Rain Partner.

2. Able (if qualified) to participate in receiving the RC bonuses but is not yet able to participate in all aspects of the compensation plan.

3. Able to have access, but is limited to purchasing only products set aside for the RC Program. An RC doesn’t have access to purchase from the full product line.

When an RC enrolls into the program, and purchases an RC product, they receive a position in the Uni Team, and they also receive a dormant position in the Binary Tree Genealogy. They can activate this dormant position if they choose to become a Rain Partner and upgrade by purchasing a starter kit.

There is no enrollment fee, set up fee, or starter pack purchase needed to become a Referring Customer. Rain International gives the truly unique opportunity for a Referring Customer to enroll other Referring Customers and even receive bonuses through the Referring Customer Program.

Referring Customer Volume (RCV)

Referring Customer Volume is used in the Uni Team as a point value given to each box of RC Product sold. Rain International will use this point system from time to time to when putting together promotions, or bonuses specific to the Referring Customer Program.

Rolling Group Volume (RGV)

Rolling Group Volume comes into effect with the Elite Ranks. Once an RP has hit an Elite Rank any excess GV that was not needed in the current week for Rank Qualification will roll forward and push to the following week. The rule stating that no more than 50% of the qualifying volume can come from one (1) Manager leg still applies with RGV.

Example

Weekly Qualification Period One (1): Jamie has 13,000 GV and meets all the other requirements needed to be at the Platinum Rank. Platinum Rank only requires 10,000 GV so there was 3000 GV more than was needed to qualify at that level. That extra GV becomes RGV for the next week. Weekly Qualification Period Two (2): Jamie has all other requirements needed to be at the Platinum Rank. In the current period alone she only has 8,000 GV, which is not enough. With the RGV she has 11,000 points and again qualifies at the Platinum Rank. There was 1000 GV more than was needed to qualify at that level. That extra GV becomes RGV for the next week.

Weekly Qualification Period Three (3): Jamie has all other requirements needed to be at the Platinum Rank. In the current period alone she only has 9,000 GV, which is not enough. With the RGV she has 10,000 points and again qualifies at the Platinum Rank. There was 1000 GV more than was needed to qualify at that level. That extra GV becomes RGV for the next week. All the GV and RGV was used this week so there is no RGV that rolls forward to the next week.

Weekly Qualification Period Four (4):

Jamie has all other requirements needed to be at the Platinum Rank. She has no RGV to help with qualification this week and created 10,000 GV in the current week to qualify.

Uni Team

Uni Team is a where Referring Customers (RCs) are placed. There is only one company line stemming from the company and every RC is placed in this line as it is built straight down. How people are placed in the Uni Team is based on the timeline and the order in which people join the RC Program.

Weak Leg

Rain International’s Team Commissions are paid as a percentage of an RP’s Weak Leg volume. The Weak Leg is that side of the RP’s Binary Tree with the lesser Commissionable Volume.

Bonuses and Commissions

Retail Preferred Customer

When you become a Rain Partner you now have the chance to purchase products at the distributor wholesale cost and sell them at the suggested retail price. The amount earned is dependent upon what price you sell the product for.

Referring Customer Program (RC Program)

The Referring Customer Program is an innovative and unique part of Rain International’s Compensation Plan. It provides the ability for Rain Partners (RP) and Referring Customers (RC) to easily and effectively have people experience our amazing products. There are three main benefits to the RC Program:

1. Referring Customer Bonus: A bonus is paid every time a box of product is sold though the RC Program. RCs and RPs are eligible to receive this bonus. To be eligible for this bonus one needs a PVQ of 20 CV. If the direct upline sponsor is not eligible to receive this bonus then the bonus will compress and be paid to the next upline individual in the Sponsor Tree Genealogy who is qualified.

2. Twenty (20) CV is put into the Binary Tree Genealogy every time a box of product is sold though the RC Program.

3. Twenty five (25) RCV is placed into the Uni Team every time a box of product is sold through the RC Program.

First Order Bonus (FOB)

This weekly bonus is paid as an amount of your personal enrollees’ Initial Kit Order. The FOB varies per Starter Kit. Each Kit is assigned an FOB based on the Market, and the quantity of the product in it. RPs need a minimum of 50 PVQ to earn a First Order Bonus.

First Order Bonus Match (FOBM)

In order to qualify for the FOBM, an RP must be Active and have at least 100 PVQ; When your Personal Enrollee enrolls a new Personal Enrollee, you will receive a FOBM. The FOBM varies per Kit Order. Each Kit is assigned an FOBM based on the Market, and the quantity of the product in it.

Example

Jane enrolls Sarah. Sarah enrolls James. Jane’s PVQ for the Bonus Period is 100. Sarah’s PVQ for the Bonus Period is 50. James places an initial kit order. Sarah receives a First Order Bonus because she is qualified at 50 CV. Jane receives a First Order Bonus Match because she is qualified 100 CV.

FOB & FOBM Compression

In the event that the personal sponsor or the personal sponsor’s sponsor does not have the PVQ required to receive the bonus, the bonuses would then be compressed. This means that the FOB would be paid to the next people in the up-line Sponsor Tree Genealogy that have the required PVQ.

Example 1

Jane enrolls Sarah. Sarah enrolls James. Jane’s PVQ for the Bonus Period is 50. Sarah’s PVQ for the Bonus Period is 0. James places an initial kit order. Sarah does not have the required 50 PVQ so is ineligible for the First Order Bonus. The system will now search upline in the Sponsor Tree Genealogy for the next person with the required PVQ. Jane has the required 50 PVQ. She therefore receives a First Order Bonus. The system will now search up line above Jane in the Sponsor Tree Genealogy for the next person with the required 100 PVQ and pay them the FOBM.

Example 2

Jane enrolls Sarah. Sarah enrolls James. Jane’s PVQ for the Bonus Period is 0. Sarah’s PVQ for the Bonus Period is 0. James places an initial kit order. Sarah does not have the required 50 PVQ so is ineligible for

Tim is the next person upline in the Sponsor Tree Genealogy and he has 100 PVQ. Since he has more than the minimum requirement of 50 PVQ to receive the FOB, he receives a First Order Bonus. The system will now search upline above Tim in the Sponsor Tree Genealogy for the next person with the required 100 PVQ and pay them the FOBM.

Team Commissions

In order to receive Team Commissions, an RP must: 1. Be Active; and 2. Be Commission Qualified; and 3. Be qualified and paid at the rank of Manager or higher; and 4. Have a minimum of 300 combined Commissionable Volume and Carryover Volume for the Bonus Period in each leg of his or her Binary Genealogy.

Your Team Commissions are paid weekly in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of your Weak Leg Commissionable Volume (CV) subject to the Rank cap amounts. The Rank cap is the maximum amount of Team Commissions payable in any Bonus Period to an RP notwithstanding the actual amount of Weak Leg Volume. First Order Bonuses and First Order Bonus Match are not subject to the Rank caps.

Example 1

In Daryl’s Binary Genealogy, he has 3,000 CV in his Left Leg (Weak Leg) and 10,000 CV in his Right Leg (Strong Leg). Daryl’s Team Commission for that Bonus Period is $300 (Weak Leg CV of 3,000 x 10%).

Cycle Cap Rule

A “Cycle” is defined as each segment of 300 points in Commissionable Volume. Due to the Earnings Cap Rule (defined below), in any particular Bonus Period, Team Commissions will be paid on a maximum number of 334 Weak Leg Cycles. Any Commissionable Volume in excess of 334 Cycles will be carried over to the next Bonus Period.

Team Earnings Cap Rule

Team Commissions for each shall be maximized at $10,000, or 334 Cycles, per Business Center per Bonus Period:

Example 1

Stan’s Business Center produced 500 Cycles in Bonus Period A. Due to the Earnings Cap Rule, Stan will only be paid Team Commissions of $10,000 on 334 Cycles (100,200 CV) for Bonus Period A. The remaining 166 Cycles (50,000 CV) will be carried over to the next Bonus Period.

Carryover Volume Rule

Any Commissionable Volume that was not paid a Team Commission in the current Bonus Period will be carried over to the next Bonus Period. The Carryover Volume Rule applies to any unpaid Commissionable Volume whether such unpaid volume resulted from the Earnings Cap Rule or Minimum Volume Rule.

Example 1

Stan is Active and is Commission Qualified. He has 1,600 CV in his Strong Leg and 1,400 CV in his Weak Leg. Stan earns a $120 Team Commissions check. His carry over volume for the next bonus period will be 400 CV in his Strong Leg and 200 CV in his Weak Leg.

Example 2

Sally is Active and is Commission Qualified. She has 500 CV in her Strong Leg and 200 CV in her weak leg. Since Sally needs a minimum of 300 CV in her Weak Leg and 300 CV in her Strong Leg to be paid a Team Commission, she will not receive a Team Commission for the current period.

However, her 500 Strong Leg CV and 200 Weak Leg CV will be carried over to the next commission period or until both legs have at least 300 CV.

Flushing Rule

If an RP is not active for any monthly period, all Commissionable Volume and Carryover Volume will be reduced to zero in the next Bonus Period.

Example 1

In this example the Bonus Periods that Jane is Active, we will assume that she is not Commission Qualified therefore all volume will Carryover.

During Bonus Period 5, and 6 Jane fails to remain Active because she no longer has the minimal requirement of 50 PVQ . Her inactive status results in all CV and Carryover Volume to be flushed rather than be accumulated. In Bonus Period 7 she has purchased some product and now has the minimum requirement of 50 PVQ to be considered Active. From Bonus period 7 her CV and Carryover Volume starts accumulating again.

Leadership Bonus

Every week, Rain International sets aside three percent (3%) of Total Company Commissionable Volume to the Leadership Bonus Pool, which is divided into the Builders Bonus Pool (70%). Every RP achieving and being Paid As rank Manager or above receives Bonus Pool based on the allocation of share(s). In order to qualify for The Leadership Bonus, a minimum of 100 PVQ is required. 1. Paid As Rank Bronze Executive thru Gold Executive; and

2. Maintain at least 100 PVQ.

Fourth through Seventh Generation:

1. Paid As Rank Platinum Elite or higher depending on the number of Generations to be paid; and

3. Maintain at least 200 PVQ.

The Generational Matching Bonus is paid as a floating percentage of the Team Commissions earned in an RP’s Sponsor Tree Genealogy up to seven (7) Generations. Because the total payments of the Compensation Plan pay a total amount of fifty percent (50%) of total Company CV, the floating percentage is based on CV after the Company pays all Upline Bonuses, Team Commissions, Lifestyle Bonuses, Leadership Bonuses and any other bonuses offered by the Company at its discretion.

Example 1

For Bonus Period 1, the Generational Matching Bonus is determined to be 15%. Charles qualifies at the Rank of Paid As Bronze Director and maintains PVQ of 100 and as such, qualifies to be paid a Generational Matching Bonus on his First Generation in that period. Charles enrolls Patti at the top of an Enroller Leg that has a number of RPs before that Enroller Leg’s first Paid As Bronze Director, Sandy. All RPs between Charles and Sandy, including Sandy, are his first Generation. Total Team Commissions paid

Stan is the second Generation in that Enrollment Leg. Generation 1 (Sandy and above) has earned total Team Commissions of $7,000. Generation 2 (Stan and above) has earned total Team Commissions of $5,000. Charles’ Generational Matching Bonus for Bonus Period 2 is calculated as follows:

Lifestyle Bonus (Monthly)

The Rain International Lifestyle Bonus is designed to reward you for achieving the top elite Ranks in the Compensation Plan. The basic requirements for earning the Lifestyle Bonus are as follows:

1. Paid As Pearl Elite or higher for four (4) consecutive Bonus Periods; and

2. An RP must be Commission Qualified; and

3. Must have 200 PVQ in qualification period

While this bonus is based on four (4) week qualification cycles, the Lifestyle Bonus is paid monthly. Once qualified and assuming you maintain qualification criteria, you will receive that level of Lifestyle Bonus for three (3) months. At the end of the three (3) month cycle, you will be reevaluated and any adjustment made will be based on the updated qualification level. In essence, on the day of the month on which an RP’s Lifestyle Bonus is to be paid, the Company will verify that the qualification requirements for the previous four (4) Bonus Periods have been met. The Lifestyle Bonus amount is determined by Rank (the higher the rank the higher the bonus) and is paid to qualified RPs in a single lump sum on a predetermined day of each month. In the event that an RP advances in Rank during the four (4) week qualification period, the Lifestyle Bonus will be paid on the lowest qualification rank during that period. For Bonus Period 1, Brad is Paid As Rank Pearl. For Bonus Period 2, Brad is Paid As Rank Platinum. For Bonus Periods 3 and 4, Brad is Paid As Rank Sapphire Elite. Brad does not receive a Lifestyle Bonus for that month because in Bonus Period 2 Brad failed to be Paid As a Pearl Elite, the minimum qualification Rank required for the payment of a Lifestyle Bonus for that month. However if Brad continues to hit a Pearl Elite rank or higher during weeks 5 and 6, he will have four consecutive weeks, which will make him eligible to receive a Lifestyle Bonus.

Associate

No qualification requirements apply to the Rank of Associate. Upon registration and receiving an RP number, the Rank of Partner is given.

Rain Associate

A Partner becomes a Rain Associate upon paying the Member Fee and placing an Enrollment Order at the time of registration.

Keep in mind that whatever you are currently telling yourself about wealth, is an affirmations. They may not be positive affirmations, but they are affirmations nonetheless. Anytime you worry about money, you are affirming its lack in your life. Anytime you are struggling with asking for fair compensation for your work, you are affirming that you don’t feel worthy of wealth. Obviously these kinds of affirmations need to be changed in order for your fortunes to improve!

To encourage wealth and money, you need to train your thoughts on abundance. But we do the exact opposite by trying to concentrate on what we do not have, like high paying jobs, defaulting on bill payments, day to day struggles to ensure a better life, lack of common necessities etc.

By doing this you are focusing all your energy on the negatives, leading to further scarcity and frustration.

8 Lessons from the Richest Man in Babylon (On Wealth Building)

In 1926, George Samuel Clason published a series of pamphlets written in parables that was set in the ancient city of Babylon. The book became known as “The Richest Man in Babylon” and has become a classic in financial literature. I first encountered this little book when I graduated college and was blown away by the simplicity of the story and by the tried-and-true lessons it presented for accumulating wealth.

The story sprang from the characters Bansir who was a chariot builder and Kobbi who was a musician. The two had become the best at their craft but yet had no money and were poor. They went out to seek the advice of their childhood friend Arkad who in contrast had grown very rich and amassed fortunes.

The lessons that Arkad provided for his friends was the premise of the book and they are lessons of wealth building habits that I believe every rich person had followed to accumulate their wealth. Below are lessons in this book that has helped me and many others become financially stable and wealthy and I believe these lessons will help all of us build a firm financial foundation on our way to becoming the richest person we can become.

1. Pay Ourselves First ( “Start thy purse to fattening.”)

One of the greatest lesson the book has taught is this first lesson. When Bansir and Kobbi seeked the advice of their very wealthy friend Arkad he tells them a story. Arkad was once a poor scribe who made a deal with a rich man to find out the secret to wealth in exchange for his work on a clay inscription. The rich man gave him a very valuable advice ”I found the road to wealth,” he said, “When I decided that a part of all I earned was mine to keep. And so will you.” Although this is a very subtle message it is very powerful in accumulating wealth. We cannot accumulate wealth if we do not save what we earned. We can do that by paying ourselves first and foremost before we spend any of the money we have earned.

Did you ever wonder why the U.S. government takes taxes on our wages before we can get to it? The U.S. government (IRS) knows this law well. They pay themselves first with our money. This is why we must be vigilant to pay ourselves first with every money we earn. The book recommends that we pay ourselves 10% of all that we earn. For every dollar that we earn, 10 cents should go to pay the person you see in the mirror every morning. You may call it the “Me Tax” if you like. The difference between rich financially stable people versus poor broke people is knowing this first rule. Wealthy people pay themselves first and poor people do not. Before we start paying others or start spending the money we earn we need to pay ourselves first.

2. Live below our means. (“Control thy expenditures”)

If we have paid ourselves first at least 10% of what we earn that leaves us with 90% or less of our income to live on. Controlling our expenditures enable us to make good use of the money we have left over after we have paid ourselves. There have been many advice on frugality over the years but I think it will not solve the problem for the majority of us until we truly define what money is to us and also define the difference of need vs. want. I wrote about this on the guide to becoming smart about money.

“Budget your expenses so that you may have money to pay for your necessities, to pay for your enjoyments and to gratify your worthwhile desires without spending more than nine-tenths of your earnings.”

The best advice to becoming wealthy is to keep expenditures down even when our earning power increases. Many of us have the habit of spending more as we earn more and it’s not unusual to see someone splurging and suddenly their expenses go up as they start earning more. For example, if we suddenly have a $2,000 – $3,000 raise it is best to maintain our current expense level as if the raise never happened. Instead we can tuck that extra money away into our savings or investment. Controlling expenditures will mean living below our means. When we live below our means we accumulate wealth faster. We can think of it in this way, our earning power is our ‘offense’ and controlling our expenditures is our greatest ‘defense’.

3. Make our money work for us. (“Make thy gold multiply”)

I believe this lesson is about investing our money and letting it work for us. I personally believe that each and every one of us should think about investing only after we have built our savings and an Emergency Fund. After we have accumulated 6-8 months worth of expenses in our Emergency Fund it is only then that we should consider about investing our money on other investment vehicles. Our Emergency Fund is a security blanket especially during this time of economic downturns.” …put each coin to work so that it may reproduce its kind even as the flocks of the field and help bring to you more income, a stream of wealth that will flow constantly into your purse.”

If everything else is good and gravy, making our money work for us is a great way to accumulate wealth. There are many investment vehicles we can tackle but the best thing we should all be aware of is that we should never invest in anything we do not completely understand. Investing our money will mean becoming knowledgeable about what we are investing in as well as the repercussions if the investment does not pan out as well as our potential exit strategies when we are ready to take our money out. There are many ways we can invest our money such as stock markets, real estate, businesses, and so on. We must do our diligent effort to find great investments so we ensure our money will multiply and work for us.

We should also invest our money to ensure we have a steady and safe income while taking advantage of compounding interest we receive from our investments. Time is our biggest ally and as our investment accumulate interest and the money we get from the interest earns interest and so on this is how we can make our gold multiply.

4. Insurance protects our wealth. (“Guard they treasures from loss.”)

Have you ever had a car accident? I have. I was in an intersection when a car on the left passed a red light and hit my car head on. Thankfully we both did not get hurt. And thankfully we both had insurance. Insurance helps safeguard our wealth by absorbing potential loss and mitigating our financial situation. There are many insurance we can buy and we should do our research on which one and how much we need. A renter’s insurance or a homeowner’s insurance helps protect our homes. Another one is longterm insurance which become suitable to help us as we grow older and help protect us from medical expenses and long-term care. We should all consider buying insurance now in case we need it if something happens. This is a proactive approach and one we should take and not forget. The idea is that we will never have to use the insurance but in case something does happen we are protected financially from the loss it would have caused.

5. Our home is our biggest expense. (“Make of thy dwelling a profitable investment”)

Our homes are potentially the biggest expense we have to tackle. Many of us do not own a home and instead rent one. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that but I believe the lesson we can learn from this one is that we should manage our biggest expense smartly. Many of us have decided to take on a huge mortgage to buy our home and after the real estate bust many were left with homes that lost their value and in many cases were underwater. I believe the lesson we can learn from that was that we needed to ‘live below our means’ and buy or rent a home we can comfortably afford.

Since our home is our biggest expense we must play great defense in this arena to lessen that expense as much as possible. I learned this lesson when I bought my first home. I can afford a home twice as much as the price of my current home but I was happy with the home I bought. It was affordable, in a

location that I liked, and had enough space for myself. I do not sweat the mortgage since it is comfortably affordable for me and I am trying to pay it off faster with the extra money I earn.

I know that many think their homes are an investment but the truth is it really is not. It is an expense and a very high expense at that and one we must manage carefully.

6. Have a retirement plan. (“Insure a future income.”)

A 25 year old earning an annual salary of $40,000 with an annual raise of say 3% will have earned an estimated $3 million if they retire by age 65. That’s about 40 years of working and earning. We should have a retirement plan if we want to retire comfortably. We can do that by setting aside money to be invested for our retirement. There are many retirement investment plans out there such as 401K, Traditional IRA, Roth, etc. The younger we can start putting money away for our retirement the better. When we start putting money away for retirement early we take advantage of a magical thing called ‘compounding interest‘.

Our net-worth does not equal our self-worth. We need to keep them separated.

Compounding interest is known as the eight wonder of the world. Benjamin Franklin knew of this knowledge. Did you know that Benjamin Franklin left 1,000 pounds (about $5,000 in today’s money) when he died to a trust. He bequeathed that trust and left it to his favorite cities Philadelphia and Boston with the provision that the money was to remain untouched for as long as 200 years. What was left in the trust after it grew was the amount of $2 million given to Philadelphia and a whooping $5 million for Boston. The lesson we can learn from this is to make time work for us when we plan for retirement by starting early. Time can be our retirement’s greatest friend.

7. Invest in ourselves. (“Increase thy ability to earn.”)

The best way we can increase our earning is by investing in ourselves. We can do that by continually learning and striving to develop ourselves. We are now in a very exciting time: the Information Age where knowledge is literally within our fingertips thanks to the Internet. I really love the Open Courseware idea where many schools including Ivy Leagues post their whole class courses for free. It’s a great way to learn on our own. Another one is Coursera which has many online courses for free from Finance to Philosophy, check it out.

There are many things we can learn on our own and should strive to make ourselves well-rounded. Whether we learn to eat more healthy, enhance our current work skills, or learn to make more money, we must take the initiative to invest in ourselves. When we become smarter and wiser our ability to earn more also increases.

The 5 Rules of Gold from the “Richest Man in Babylon”

Gold comes gladly and in increasing quantity to any man who will put by not less than one-tenth of his earnings to create an estate for his future and that of his family

Gold labours diligently and contentedly for the wiser owner who finds fir it profitable employment, multiplying even as the flocks of the field

Gold clings to the protection of the cautious owner who invests it under the advice of men wise in its handling

8. Track Our Wealth. (Know where you are and where you are going.)

In order for us to know where we stand financially we need to face the whole truth of our current situation. We can do that by tracking our current wealth or lack thereof. This is a tough exercise but we must face the truth of how we earn and spend our money in order for us to know where we are going. There is a big difference between wealthy people and those who are not, wealthy people know their net worth while the poor do not pay particular attention nor care at all about tracking their assets and liabilities.

We can track our wealth by creating a spreadsheet of all our months earnings and expenses and tallying the difference between the money we earn and how much we spend. When we do this work we are able to gauge how we are doing financially. We can also track our net worth by calculating our assets versus our liabilities (our debt). If you have not done this work yourself it is an eye-opening experience. In order for us to fully develop a plan to be wealthy we need to learn how to track our wealth so that we may know where we want to go and create a plan to get there.
