- Type 1.1 (Master degree base) : 48 credits
- Type 1.2 (Bachelor degree base): 72 credits
- Type 2.1 (Master degree base) : a minimum of 48 credits
-Type 2.2 (Bachelor degree base): a minimum of 72 credits
4. Period of Study
Type 1.1 and 2.1
The program is designed to be 3 academic years, and the period of study shall not exceed 6 academic
years.
Type 1.2 and 2.2
The program is designed to be 4 academic years, and the period of study shall not exceed 8 academic
years.
5. Tuition Fee
Type 1.1 and 2.1 600,000 THB. (100,000 THB./semester – 6 semesters)
Type 1.2 and 2.2 800,000 THB. (100,000 THB./semester - 8 semesters)
6. Student Qualifications
Type 1.1 (Thesis Only Student with Master Degree)
1. Eligible applicants must be holders of a degree of Master of Sciences, Master of Veterinary Sciences or
others that related to Veterinary Sciences with at least 3.50 GPA. Ones who apply to the Companion
Animal Course must also be holders of a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree.
2. The applicant must show proficiency in the English language, and have at least one of the following
qualifications

2.1. TOEFL a minimum of 500 (Paper - based) or 173 (Computer - based) or
61 (Internet - based)
2.2. IELTS a minimum of Band 5.5
2.3. CMU-eTEGS a minimum of 65
2.4 CU-TEP a minimum of 75
2.5 TU-GET a minimum of 550
2.6 KU-EPT a minimum of 60
and also pass a standard test within 2 year before the application. The applicant is foreign student who
use the English language as official language will be approved by the program director or a member of
the curriculum’s executive committee.
3. Any other qualifications will be under the consideration and consent of the curriculum’s executive
committee.
Type 1.2 (Thesis Only Student with Bachelor Degree)
1. Eligible applicants must be holders of an honor degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M.) or
equivalent with at least 3.25 GPA.
2. For those who are studying in a curriculum of Master of Sciences in Veterinary Sciences
or Master of Veterinary Public health with an outstanding study and/or research profiles are eligible to
apply to the PhD program
3. The applicant must show proficiency in the English language, and have at least one of the following
qualifications
3.1. TOEFL a minimum of 500 (Paper - based) or 173 (Computer - based) or

7. Academic activities
Type 1.1
(1) A student has to organize and present a seminar on the topic related to his/her thesis at
least once per semester for at least 5 semesters. This requirement is mandatory in semesters with or without
registrations of seminar in veterinary science courses, and students have to attend seminar every semester
through out the program.
(2) The whole or part of a thesis must be published/accepted for international journal at least
1 paper, which categorized in ISI, Scopus, PubMed or Web of Science database at least 1 paper and
presented at the international conference at least 1 paper.
(3) A student has to report thesis progression to the Graduate School every Semesters which
approved by the Chairman of the Graduate Study Committee.
Type 1.2
(1) A student has to organize and present a seminar on the topic related to his/her thesis
twice every

9. Ratification
To be accordance with Chiang Mai University regulations on Postgraduate Education 2007 as follows:
Type 1.1 and 1.2
1. A student must have passed the qualifying examination.
2. A student must have passed the foreign language requirement as set by the Graduate School.
3. A student must have completed the requirements of the study program.
4. A student must have passed a comprehensive examination.
5. The whole or part of a thesis must be published/accepted for international journal at least 1 paper, which
categorized in ISI, Scopus, PubMed or Web of Science database at least 1 paper and presented at the
international conference at least 1 paper. (Type 1.1)
The whole or part of a thesis must be published/accepted for international journal at least 2 papers, which
categorized in ISI, Scopus, PubMed or Web of Science database and presented at the international
conference at least 1 paper. (Type 1.2)
6. A student has met the qualifications as outlined in the Chiang Mai University Regulations on Student
Honors, 2007.
Type 2.1 and 2.2
1. A student must have passed the qualifying examination.
2. A student must have passed the foreign language requirement as set by the Graduate School.
3. A student must have completed the particular curriculum and have met all of the requirements set by the
study program.
4. Earning accumulated grad point average (GPA) of at least 3.00 for all courses taken, and a GPA of not less
than 3.00 for the chosen of specialization.
5.A student must have successfully defended a thesis.
6. The whole or part of a thesis must be published/accepted for International Journal at least 1 paper which
categorized in ISI, Scopus, PubMed or Web of Science database and presented at the international conference at
least 1 paper (Type 2.1)
The whole or part of a thesis must be published/accepted for international journal at least 2 papers which
categorized in ISI, Scopus, IEE, PubMed or Web of Science database at least 1 paper and presented at the
international conference at least 1 paper. (Type 2.2)
