• For every $100 gained, $91 is lost• Greatest losses are from lapsed NEW donors
• Average Donor Retention rate was 46% in 2014 and 2015• First time average donor retention rate was 29%

These are our partners. SHM may be small, but we have a huge impact in our community because we collaborate with other resourceful organizations throughout our community. This allows us to
reach new audiences, offer programs SHM alone would not be able to support, and
impact more people without additional resources.
These partnerships are a result of building relationships, establishing trust, and creatively thinking of new ways to work together. Consequently, this year we were able to reach the following groups: Over 200 children who used our gardens as an outdoor classroom Over 225 students who experienced learning about local history in authentic learning places (the DeKalb County Community Foundation’s Freight Room and DeKalb
County Forest Preserve District’s 1835 Miller Cabin) Over 170 people were first time visitors or attendees to SHM programs. Visitors from over 27 zip codes who came to see our award winning exhibit “Connecting a Community: How One Railroad Shaped a Small Town.”
