Finding a job is one thing—finding the right job is another. Dordt’s Career Services department can help. Through one-on-one counseling, career assessments, and help with job-hunting skills, we can help you find a sense of calling for your life so you can use your God-given gifts to serve people and make a difference in the world.

Vocational Services

Our graduates say it over and over again—Dordt left them prepared. Rigorous programs and excellent professors prepared them for proficiency in their field, for success in careers and graduate school. Dordt’s Christian perspective will prepare you for what lies ahead—faith, family, career, and just about anything you can imagine.

Top programs and a fi rm foundation

Career DevelopmentCareer development isn’t something that starts once you graduate. It can start the moment you attend your first class. Our students do work for local businesses, pursue internships, and develop their skills in off-campus programs—building their resumes and earning class credit at the same time.

“I have always wanted to be an artist. Being from a small farming town, I never thought that it was an attainable career. Dordt changed that notion for me. The amazing professors nurtured my creativity, while also teaching me tangible skills that I could use in the real world. I was able to connect with several on- and off-campus experiences, which allowed me to see a variety of artistic careers in action and provided opportunities for my own career to grow into what it is today.”

“Did I know what I wanted to do when I graduated? Not at all. But Dordt College prepared me for Christian business stewardship. When I’m interviewing new employees, I often look for a liberal arts base, knowing firsthand the foundation it plays in forming a moral and ethical framework. At Dordt College, a Christian perspective is woven through all aspects of the college experience, and that prepared me for life as a Christian husband, father, and businessman.”

“I expected to be challenged, and I was—in more than just academics; in the way I looked at the world. You’ll be challenged in science. You’ll be challenged in history. You’ll be challenged in English. You’ll be challenged, in everything, to ask yourself what you believe and why, and how your Christian faith affects it.”

It’s not just our graduates who rave about the top programs and strong Christian perspective a Dordt education brings—employers and supervisors notice the difference as well, and often look for Dordt graduates when looking to fill open positions.

“The breadth of Jonathan’s technical abilities and knowledge, as well as his leadership skills in cross-functioning teams, is outstanding. But more than that, he is someone everyone wants to work with, someone who treats everyone with great respect, and someone who is highly ethical and committed to excellence.”-Jonathan’s supervisor at Nokia
