“So God created human beings in His own image. In the image of God He created them; male and female He created them.”Genesis 1:27 (NLT)

PG 3SEP2016

A T T i T U D E S“ ”We have all heard the expression, “Your attitude determines your altitude!” But how many of us today have a positive winning attitude? We can radically improve our lives, simply by changing our attitudes. God wants every one of us to have renewed minds with positive godly attitudes.

Ability is what we are capable of doing, motivation determines what we do, and attitude determines how well we do it! Our attitude can either be our best friend or our worst enemy. It can determine whether we fail or whether we succeed. We cannot control our circumstances but we can control how we respond to each and every situation.

We need to develop an attitude of trust. Hebrews 11:6 tells us that without faith it is impossible to please God. Our attitude today determines where we will be tomorrow. If we react instead of responding to circumstances, we run the risk of making wrong decisions based on fear rather than faith.

Our attitudes can turn tests and trials into blessing and victories, before we even encounter a storm or problem, our attitude will determine the outcome. We must make up our minds today that we are going to have the victory, that we are going to walk triumphantly through each and every trial, and overcome every attack of the enemy.

Dealing with our attitude is an ongoing daily process, as there will always be offences along the way. We need to walk in a daily attitude of forgiveness. We need to determine each day that we are going to walk in love and see people as God sees them. We are called to be peace makers and to love one another as God loves us. Our God is a God of forgiveness, reconciliation, restoration and healing.

Jesus lives inside of us. We must make the decision to allow His love to flow out of us to the helpless, hopeless and hurting world around us.

I pray for God’s richest blessings upon your lives as you determine to have a loving, Godly attitude in all your daily dealings.

May God bless you as you pursue His purpose for your life.

Lots of love,

Pastor Ray and Zelda McCauley.

“Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes.”Ephesians 4:23

PG 4 SEP2016

“Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.” (Colossians 3:13 NLT)

Many of us have someone in our lives who has done some crazy, hurtful thing to us or, maybe even more importantly, to somebody that we love. In our minds we think, “I know the Christian thing to do is to forgive, so I will. I will forgive them as soon as they give me an apology.”

The problem with that is, you’re still holding on to the hurt. Truth is, that person may never ask you for forgiveness. They may never say they’re sorry, because they don’t get it, or they may not even realize what they’ve done. So you end up stewing over something that the other person has long ago forgotten. And it’s eating you up inside!

Never hold on to a hurt, because resentment tears you up. Resentment is like drinking poison and hoping it’s going to kill someone else. It doesn’t work. You have to decide that, before anything else happens, you are going to forgive that person.

Jesus said this even in the most extreme of circumstances, as he’s hanging on the cross: “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing” (Luke 23:34a NIV).

So what do you do? When you struggle with forgiving, remember the great gift of God’s forgiveness.

Remember a verse like Colossians 3:13: “Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others” (NLT).

It’s not a bad one to memorize and carry with you throughout the day, because you’re going to have plenty of chances to use it. That phrase “make allowance” is the Greek word that means “to bear with, to endure, to be tolerant.” Basically it means to cut people some slack. Jesus said, “Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy” (Matthew 5:7 NIV). I want God’s blessing in my life and your life. One of the ways you receive that is by being merciful.
