Bringing American Football to BCU!!
GOAL = to play in the BUAFL (British University American Football League) in 2011.
BUT we first need to see how many people would be interested in playing for this team.
So far we have got 18 people interested in being apart of this team but we need MORE players!!
So if you’re interested in sports and would like to try something new, why not give American football a go?

BCU Men’s Football 1sts v Nottingham Trent Men’s Football 4s
In front of an awesome crowd, our team produced a magnificent all round performance, the dedication, commitment and quality was there to be seen by everyone. Straight from kick off the home advantage was noticeable, against a team 4 divisions above us we produced a display to be proud of. The game started with a
fortunate penalty kick for BCU, unfortunately Charles Adesanya missed. Going down 1-0 from a poor defensive mistake, did nothinder our spirits, we carried on putting pressure on the opposition’s goal. Just before half time a quality free kick from Jonny Cutter levelled things up, 1-1 at half time.
BCU Men’s Football 1sts v Nottingham Trent Men’s Football 4s
Second half the crowd saw one of the best performances from a BCU men’s football team. Constant pressure from kick off, a quality team effort saw us take the lead from Charles Adesanaya who finished from close range. A sending off to one of Nottingham Trent’s player’s just increased the pressure on their goal, Charles could have had a memorable hat trick however he failed to capitalise on his chances, misses from Richard Ricketts and Kiron Nandhara should have killed the game off. On the 87th minute after nonstop pressure and missed chances from our strike force, Trent equalised with one of the best goals the crowd has ever seen, an over head kick from 25 yards that silenced everyone.
However, there was more to come. In the 90th minute a cross from Jonny Cutter ended up with Daniel Condon heading the ball over the keeper into the top corner which sent the crowd absolutely mad, an unbelievable feeling!
When the final whistle went, the joy on everyone’s faces was a proud moment, a proud day to be a BCU fan. Man of the Match has to go to Carlos Talbot, his performance in centre midfield won BCU the game. The whole team’s performance deserves credit, everyone was brilliant.
We look forward to meet Birmingham University 2nds on 27th January, they have no idea what is going to hit them!
