• It’s a Clothing Project– Select or make your outfit– Accessorize it– Model it in front of judges and your friends

• Find an outfit that looks good on YOU, makes sense for the things you like to do and is a Smart buy
– Learn how to:• Comparison shopping
• Clothing care --its not just for Mom & Dad
• Feeling comfortable in front of a group of people

• Three phase process– Phase 1: Select your outfit– Phase 2: Write up the paperwork to go with you outfit– Phase 3: Come to Fashion Revue with your outfit & the
paperwork
– Fashion Revue Day: Saturday April 14, 2012– Location: To be announced
Phase 1: Your Outfit
• Pick out something…or make it yourself
• That you will like wearing– The color looks good on you– It fits well– You can wear for your activities…like going to
School, church or a birthday party.
Phase 2: The Paperwork
• Fashion Revue Commentary Worksheet– Use it to write your commentary
• Fashion Revue Clothing Record
• Fashion Revue Consumer Comparison
• They are on the website at– http://pwc4h.org
Phase 3: Fashion Revue Day
• Get your outfit and your accessories– Shoes that go with your outfit– Your brush or comb!– Anything else that goes with your outfit ??
• Bring the Paperwork– Commentary, – Consumer Comparison– Clothing Record
Don’t get dressed at home….you’ll do that later at Fashion Revue

• Compare two similar garments:– Style – care instructions (how to wash & dry it)– construction details (examples: zipper, pockets, buttons, beads
& crystals, cuffs)– Cost
• Where to comparison shop?– Stores– Catalogs– Internet websites

• Activities you did as part of Fashion Revue– Leadership activities related to Fashion Revue:
• Coaching younger members to write paperwork. Checking spelling & grammar
• Lead modeling practice
– Past Fashion Revue participation– Results: in “Outcome” section– What life skills of the 4 “H”’s did you learn?
• Check boxes in each area• Write a short paragraph about one of them• Be prepared for the judges to ask you about one of them!

The Commentary (not the Worksheet) is turned in & read by the Emcee
Ground Rules
• There is no “First Place”– Ribbons are awarded based on Points earned
• Blue Ribbon = 90-100• Red Ribbon = 75-89• White Ribbon = 74 or less• Green Ribbon = Cloverbud (5-8 years old) No points
• The Judges fill in the Score Sheet according to scoring guidelines
• They are looking for demonstration that you have learned skills– Achievement reflects your Age and Experience
• More is expected of an older 4-H’er
Fashion Revue Scoring
• What is important to the judges is on the Scoring Sheet
• Total of 100 points can be earned
Most points: The outfit on YOU—30 pts
Almost as important: Commentary –20 pts and garment construction – 20 pts
How well you modeled the outfit—15 pts
The Project Records –15 pts
What are the Judges looking for?

The garment is well constructed
You are confident when modeling
Your paperwork is complete—you’ll lose points without it
Answer 1-2 questions
On Fashion Revue Day• You’ll be assigned a time slot for registration• Bring your outfit, accessories and paperwork• First, the judges examine the garment on the hanger,
look at your paperwork and might ask 1-2 questions about your project
• Then change into your outfit• Second, Model for the Judges while your commentary is
read aloud• Next: Fashion Show• Finally: Ribbons, Pictures
and COOKIES!!!
