A typical Lockout Relay would have two positions "TRIP - RESET". Under normal
condition, the handle would be turned to "RESET" position and would remain mechanicallylatched at this position. The Lockout Relay contact LR which is in series with the LockoutRelay coil would be closed at the 'RESET" position only. The fault contact FC makes onlywhen there is a fault in the circuit.
When the Lockout Relay coil LR is energise, it would released the mechanical latchholding the handle at 'RESET" position and the handle would spring return to 'TRIP"
position. So long as FC remains at close contact condition ( due tothe presence of a faultin the circuit ) the handle will not latched at "RESET" position but would always spring
return to "TRIP "

APPLICATION
The Lockout Relay is a high speed Automatic Trip/Manual Reset auxiliary relay permit-
ting simultaneous operations of up to 48 contacts from 10A to 80A for AC and 10A to 63A
for DC.Lockout Relays are normally connected to the fault sensing contacts of the circuit
breakers. If a fault should occur, the Lockout Relays ensure that all the critical circuits areisolated and would remain isolated so long as the fault is not cleared. It's positive tripaction ensures that all the contacts would perform as to requirements and it multi-contact
arrangement eliminates the need for several control relays contacts.

connected in series/parallel network as follows:
Size S00 consist of a single lamp Size S0 consist of 4 lamps with rating of 1.2W each. Size S1 consist of 6 lamps with rating of 1.2W each.
The advantage of having more than one lamp is that should one lamp fails, the other
lamps connected in the parallel network still operates but with reduced illumination in casea discrepancy condition occurs.
c. Auxiliary push-button contacts can be operated which operates when the handle isPush-in ( S0 AND S1 only )
d. Residual or slip-clutch contact can be incorporated on request ( S0 and S1 only ).
2. TYPES OF DISCREPANCY SWITCH
Kraus & Naimer discrepancy switch are available in the following sizes:a. Size S00 - for switch rating up to 10A. These switches are commonly used inmimic and mosaic panels. Low voltage switches of gold contact ( Type CA4-1 ) areavailable for electronics and thermocouple circuits.
b. Size S0 - for switch rating from 16A to 32A/AC21. These switches are commonlyused in mimic and mosaic panels. Low voltage switches of silver H- Bridge contact ( typeCAD12 ) or gold H-Bridge contact ( type CAD11) are available for electronics andthermocouple circuits.
c. Size S1 - for switch rating of 20A to 63A AC21. These switches are especiallysuitable for switching highly inductive loads e.g. circuit breaker coils etc.

b. Switch Ratings
The switch contacts operate when the handle is turn. The switches are suitable forboth AC and DC switching . Type CA4-1 with gold contacts are specially suitable for : Low voltage switching of electronics and thermocouple circuits due to it's lowcontact resistance.
Corrosive environment where the gold contact prevent oxidation of the contactsurface which can increases contact resistance.
In selecting the switch model for DC switching, the selection of appropriate switchdepends on: The DC supply voltage
The DC load current The type of load - resistive/inductive
In selecting the switch model for low voltage switching, the Dry Circuit Ratingshould not be exceeded. The Dry Circuit Rating refers to the relationship between thesupply voltage and load current. If the value exceeds, arcing may occur which would
remove the layer of gold on the contact.

Fig. 21 - Typical Discrepancy Switch Circuit
a. Typical Specifications
When the handle of a discrepancy swi tch is turn 90 degrees, the mimic diagram ofthe control panel will immediately indicate any circuit interruptions . The handle of thediscrepancy switch will be illuminated to indicate a discrepancy between the conditionas indicated in the mimic panel and the actual condi tion of the circui t breaker. Forexample, if the circuit breaker and the discrepancy switch handle is in the is in the"CLOSED" positi on, the handle will not be illuminated because there is no discrepancy
between what is shown in the mimic panel and the actual condition of the circui tbreaker.
If the circu it breaker TRIP due to a fault condi tion, the handle of the discrepancyswitch will be ill uminated because a discrepancy arise i.e. the handle is still in the
CLOSE condition. The lamp wil l cut of f only when the handle is turn to the TRIPposition . This removes the discrepancy between the mimic diagram and the true
position of the breaker.Pushing-in and Turning the discrepancy switch handle at the TRIP position will

1. APPLICATION
Key operated switches are extensively used in situations : To prevent inadvertent operation of the electrical circuits. To provide security against unauthorised operations of the electrical circuits.
To ensure that the key operational personals are in attendance before the criticalelectrical circuits can be operated.
2. TYPES OF KEY LOCKS
To prevent inadvertent operations, the handle of the critical switch can :a. Be replaced by a key which can be removed at selected positions using theKraus &
Naimer key lock device type V750/V750D. To prevent unauthorised duplication of keys orhave master key lock system, high security KABA key locks can be used.b. Be locked the handle in selected positions by means of a separate key lock deviceusing theKraus & Naimer safety key lock device type V760.c. Be replaced with a removable "handle" type key using theKraus & Naimer key handledevice type V900 in which the standardKraus & Naimer handle can be fitted to the key
device. Master key lock systems are available.
3. FEATURES OF KEY LOCK DEVICE V750/V750D
The device replace the normal switch handle by a key. Features of the V750/V750D keylock device are:a. It has several locking programs which allows the key to be removed up to a maximum of12 positions.b. It has several different types of locks/keys. In critical installations, key personals must bepresent before operating the electrical circuits. This can be done by issuing different keys
to operate different key switches to the key personals. Hence all the key personals must bepresent to switch on all the key switches fitted with different locks before the installation canfinally be switched on. Master key lock systems are available.c. It is available with single hole mounting of
22/25/30 mm for S0 switch (20-32A AC21) 40 mm for S1 switch ( 32-63A/AC21)
4. FEATURES
