� PDF—Portable Document Format—files can be opened using PDF viewer software such asAdobe Reader.
� Adobe Reader and other PDF viewers can be downloaded and used without any fee.
� An Excel workbook can be saved as a PDF file so that it can be viewed without using the Excelprogram while retaining its formatting.
� PDF files are portable in the sense that a PDF reader installed on any personal computer,running one of the common operating systems, can accurately display the PDF file.
To complete this document, you will need the following file:� e10_Laws
You will save your workbook as:� Lastname_Firstname_e10_Laws
1. Start Excel, and open the student data file e10_Laws.
2. Display the File tab, and then click Save As. In the Save As dialog box, click the Save as typearrow, and then in the displayed list of file types, click PDF. Compare your screen withFigure 1.

3. In the Save As dialog box, navigate to your Excel Chapter 10 folder. In the File name box,type Lastname_Firstname_e10_Laws Verify that the Optimize for Standard (publishingonline and printing) option is selected. Verify that the Open file after publishing checkbox is selected. Compare your screen with Figure 2, and then click Save.
