ANGIOTENSIN II RECEPTOR BLOCKERS
Are medications that block the action of
angiotensin II, permitting the blood vessels to
relax and dilate lowering the blood pressure.
They have effects similar to an ACE inhibitor
which is why they are often used when an
ACE inhibitor cannot be tolerated by patients.
