Week 8 Term 3 – 9 September 2020
Tell Them From Me Survey This term, our school will be participating in the Partners in Learning parent survey, another part of the Tell Them From Me suite of surveys (student, teacher and parent surveys) on student engagement. The survey asks parents and carers questions about different factors that are known to impact on student wellbeing and engagement.
Running this survey will help our school understand parents’ and carers’ perspectives on their child’s experience at school. These include: communication between parents/carers and staff, activities and practices at home and parent/carer views on the school's support of learning and behaviour. This valuable feedback will help our school make practical improvements.
The survey is conducted entirely online which is accessible on a variety of devices. It typically takes 20 minutes or less to complete and is completely confidential. The parent survey can be conducted from now until Term 4, Week 2 (Friday, 23 October 2020). We had a great response last year and the information collected was extremely valuable to the school. Although participating in the survey is entirely voluntary, your responses are very much appreciated.

P&C Meeting It was a short but positive P&C meeting on Monday night. With the current COVID restrictions, we held the meeting via Zoom. The main item on the agenda was the ‘I Want Art with That’ proposal. The proposal is focused on the goal to enhance learning in the Creative and Practical Arts at Bermagui Public School. Through this proposal, we look to broaden and enrich our students’ cultural life and experiences at school and to strengthen our school community. The proposal acknowledges the skills and dedication of our teachers and the P&C aims to support our school and teachers to benefit all students. Educational Leadership is an area our school is striving to improve. This includes the themes of Instructional Leadership, High Expectations Culture, Performance Management and Development and Community Engagement. I see this collaboration with our community to further strengthen Bermagui Public School into the future.
Leading Evidence, Evaluation and Data project Yesterday Mrs Roche and myself engaged in the second day of the Leading Evidence, Evaluation and Data project to assist with our school’s situational analysis. This will support schools to identify their needs and enable us to target areas of improvement through capability building and tailored support. The situational analysis will support schools in understanding which evidence informed practices might be prioritised for deeper implementation. This will also include support in data analysis, evidence informed practices and evaluative thinking. Brendan Constable – Principal

The Kinder / Year 1 class are learning to write informative texts in the form of a procedure. Today they learnt the steps in making their own pizza.
• Step 1 make the pizza base
• Step 2 spread the tomato paste over the base
• Step 3 sprinkle your desired toppings
• Step 4 bake it in the oven

P&C NEWS
Last night we held a Zoom meeting which went well. Over the last month we have been discussing and meeting with the school about a P&C Arts proposal and last
night all attending members got to hear some feedback from Brendan and Rebecca. I will write an in-depth review of this next week for all interested parties.
We have been trying to streamline our uniform ordering process and we will be sending every family a note describing our new ordering system. This will be all done
through Tuff As Workwear in the near future but in the meantime please carefully check where the order goes. Please call me if you need ANY HELP!
