spelling bees and speech contests. Wrote an original

science fiction short story as a middle-schooler. Casted

in the lead role of his annual high school play.

● As the son of a master salesman Bruce was early

exposed to personal growth and excellence through the

books of Dale Carnegie and the albums of Earl

Nightingale.

● Bruce experienced the arrival of the Beatles, the

assassinations of JFK, RFK, MLK, Civil Rights, the

fear of a nuclear threat, the discovery of DNA and

genomics, the Vietnam War, Counterculture,

Woodstock, Apollo 11, Watergate, the collapse of the

Soviet Union, the invention of the personal computer by

Apple and the internet, smart-phones, the transition to

Google search, the arrival of social media, and cloud-

based storage.

● Bruce springs from a family of fearless pioneers:

Bruce's maternal forbears left for the wild Republic of

Texas after the War Between the States. And at the

beginning of the Great Depression, reminiscent of John

Steinbeck’s The Grapes of Wrath, Bruce's paternal

grandfather departed for the verdant San Joaquin

Valley of California.
