07 - 012Chromium Oxides and Lithiated Chromium Oxides. PromisingCathode Materials for Secondary Lithium Batteries. — Chemicallymodified m-CrOx compounds are prepared by thermal decomposition of CrO3
at high temp. and O2 pressures. These materials are stable intercalationhosts for Li and exhibit a higher capacity than any of the prominent positiveelectrodes used in secondary Li batteries. The discharge capacity of m-CrOx
exceeded 250 mAh/g when cycled between 2.0 and 4.2 V, and the energy densityof this electrode is ca. 600–650 Wh/kg. — (ARORA, PANKAJ; ZHANG,DONG; POPOV, BRANKO N.; WHITE, RALPH E.; Electrochem. Solid-StateLett. 1 (1998) 6, 249-251; Dep. Chem. Eng., Univ. S. C., Columbia, SC 29208,USA; EN)
